Wasn't much tho. |
I'm installing mine now after I received my EcuTek in the mail. I had the same issue with the idle pulleybolt hitting the oil filter. I took a hack saw to it and it fits fine now. The first issue I had was the main crank pulley was too tight to fit over the adapter. I threw it in the oven on 250 or so and pulled it out and it fit just fine, so there is a bit of an interference fit on mine. The oil reservior is a PITA to install. It does help to have everything hooked to it before you install the bracket. I had to man handle the brake line as well.

The pulley adapter is a snug fit for sure. I used a soft rubber mallet and gently tapped it on. I was worried it wouldn't move to align the bolt holes but to my surprise once it's seated you can still rotate it to the correct orientation relatively easy. Good call on shrinking it with heat though!

@KraftWerks : Did you send the A/C cover yet?

Just a heads-up... received my replacement parts today. Includes the AC belt cover. |
I threw mine on a week ago. Nice touch.

I didn't receive my cover.
The piping in a few areas fit tight. I may go back and use some rubber. One thing to note, I screwed up and cut my vacuum line too close to the brake booster. There apperantly is a check valve or something like it in the line. I yanked it out so I could get the T to fit. You can feel where the valve is by squishing the line. I wish I would have known that ahead of time. I don't know how important that thing is, I may need to purchase a new vacuum line from Subaru. Anyone have any ideas??? And the last issue I had was the EcuTek shipped without a license! I installed the SC all day Friday and by the time I had the EcuTek set-up it was almost 8pm here, which is 5pm in Cali and I couldn't get a hold of the tuner. I got an email from Kraftwerks saying I need to call him to get the registration finalized. Wish I would have known that sooner... The car still sits. Oh, and a final note, make sure that you have the oil reservior rotated the right direction before you install it. I had to take mine back out and rotate it. |

Sorry for your trouble but I'm definitely making a note to check this line when I get to that step. |
The check valve is a few inches after the bend towards the engine. It is about an inch long.
And now that I think about it, the check valve just makes sure you have power brakes if the engine dies when driving. It's a safety feature. I'll definitely get a replacement. |

Just got my license and downloaded the tune to the ECU. Wow...this thing is quick! The thrust is there down low and the dip is gone. It really pulls!!! The SC scream is a bit louder than I expected but it isn't too bad. The BOV isn't too obnoxious either. I'm going to get in trouble with this thing...
Overall a really solid product. I've had good luck receiving emails back from Kraftwerks as well. |
Glad your up and running Dren! Are you going to have a dyno pull done to see where things are at?
