one more question, what gauges are you using? i bought a cheap GlowShift on amazon and the T fitting supplied with the restrictive fitting won't fit their own supplied hose... so i used a different T fitting and since there's no restrictor, im getting -20 to 15 PSI readings... with the C30... any suggestions?

I get my readings directly from the OBDII port. I assume is correct because it reads directly from the ECU. Torque app with Parrot Smart HU.

I don't understand the need for the boost gauge :) since the boost is limited with pulley size you shouldn't be able to overboost or anything like in turbocharged cars, am I missing something? as opposed to turbocharged cars boost level should be pretty consistent and shouldn't be affected by the temperature etc..

as long as you are hitting the target boost (which can be seen with a simple Torque app) I think you should be fine .. if the accuracy of the boost readings via OBS is questionable, I don't know

Well, i'm certainly not worried about over boost, but, i've blown off hoses a few times now, and sometimes it noticeably NA-like, sometimes i get idle problems, and sometimes its just kind of okay. even though i'm almost certain i clamped every possible hose that might be a problem, i'd like to have a gauge that i don't have to worry about. I currently use the torque app with my phone, but i hate having to mess with my phone every time i get in my car and a simple gauge is cheaper than a good mount and a tablet. (plus i dont like the idea of having to look way over to get readings)

Exactly just knowing there is a boost leak can save you from having bigger issues

may the schwartz be with you....

Wideband is a better indicator of malfunction with an SC setup. You'll immediately know if you have a major boost leak since power will be down, but you'll be able to find the smaller leaks by seeing a change in the top end AFR....those you may never feel or the SC may be able to still boost normally with.

I've been getting ready for my own install and reviewing all the docs available while I wait for my package to arrive. I have been reading this thread and the amount and quality of info here is invaluable.

This caught my attention:

Did you check the tq on the crank pulley with a torque wrench? it should be 94 ft/lbs according to the service manual

I'm looking at the service manual and all I can find says that this bolt takes two turns, one at 15ft*lbs, and after that a 90 degree turn. See attachment. Am I looking in the wrong place?

As I understand it, it's not so imperative as the rotation of the crank tightens that bolt anyway

It is 94ft lbs. BTW there is a sticky in the DIY section that you really need to look at regarding the crank pulley.

Thanks. Do you happen to know where this torque number came from?

And re. the sticky, is that a concern given that the pulley is not coming out?

you don't have to remove the crank pulley, you simply remove the bolt and keep the pulley in place then install the hub adapter

you may also use this as a reference

Are you guys running 0w-20 after supercharging for your daily drive? Not looking to get into an oil debate, but just wondering if that weight will suffice for DD and a little spirited driving or should I bump up to a bit heavier weight? I've got an oil change up coming up soon.

Pondering this for a bit now, I think i'll go with 10-30 on my next oil change.

I did 94ft lbs and the pulley bolt fell out later that day. I went to 120 after that. And rechecked it a dozen times.
