Government Shutdown effects? Hope y'all okay!

I just wanted to wish whoever is furloughed that you are doing okay and managing. It's a tough time for a lot of people. I hope that everyone is doing okay right now...

Fortunately the furloughed workers will probably get paid. That's good, not fair screwing over people because 535 clowns can't get their act together.

In 1996 the Government shutdown for 21 days.

The following election had 90% of Congress re-elected. Morons electing morons, that's how we got here.

FYI, Senator Cruz and Tea Party on record, they don't support retroactive pay.

Actually they are not going to get paid this time which is way I'm thankful I don't work for the government

Should happen again, maybe something would actually get done if they all get the boot. Hope all those furloughed get paid, they shouldn't be punished for no reason

Contractors won't get paid, we just lose these hours. There's no reason to issue retroactive pay, feds weren't working...it's just appeasement so that the politicians can get re-elected (again).

Last shutdown retroactive pay was issued, and the house is voting on it today. Has support from both parties and the President. People aren't being furloughed because the money isn't there. It's there, just can't be released. About half of my shop is furloughed and half the rest are on forced overtime not knowing when we'll be paid for it.

As for the clowns, if people want change, they should vote independent. It may not be better, but it'll be different, for a day or two maybe.

I am affected... Hoping everything will be resolved ASAP...

Geesh, it does get bad. That's why I'm glad I don't have cable, except when I'm going to the gym. I'm surprised a mutant plant hasn't taken over the world yet, or sharknado hit all the government.

Stay strong guys if possible

You will get paid if being furloughed.

I'm a geology student working at my university on a grant from NASA to map the surface of Venus. The grant was paid to the school prior to the shutdown, so pay is not an issue. However, all the web based resources I use for my research (USGS/NASA) sites are down. I have to present this data at a conference in Denver October 27th.

Frustrated is a word that comes to mind.
