Which would you pick?

Curious what your choice would be among these cars if you had to pick a weekend car. Assume 80-20 street-track car, and gas mileage and rear seats not important.

- 2005 Lotus Elise
- 2006 Porsche Cayman S
- 2008 BMW M3 coupe
- 2013 Boss 302 Mustang (non-LS)
- 2014 Mustang GT (track-pack)

And I assume cost of vehicle and maintenance is also a non-issue.

I have a sweet spot for M3, the cost of maintenance would kill me though. But I would still love one.

2000-2009 S2000

...and by "Elise" I mean "Exige."

EDIT: No! 2eleven! You mentioned nothing about cost being an issue.

Picked the car whose form most resembles the Toyoabaru...Cayman S.

Cayman S please!!!

Eh no love for the Mustangs? I thought there'd be at least some votes for the Boss 302. Somewhat collectible, fast, trackable, etc.

There are definitely philosophic similarities between the Cayman S and the Twins (driver's cars / relatively low-powered / spartan-interior, but daily-driveable) so I can see why it'd be winning.

The M3 is the most complete car (luxury, performance, practical), although perhaps a bit heavy for track use.

Not even between the mustangs themselves.

Childish bickering.

Cayman > Elise > Boss 302 > M3 > GT

enwave 10-04-2013 12:51 PM

M3 > Cayman S > Lotus > Prius > Boss > GT

M3 only comes first because I'm a BMW nut. Most people wouldn't logically put it there I don't think, at least not that model year.

In a different selection of cars, the Boss 302 would have been something I'd choose. But you stuck it in with a bunch of cars I like better. :D

Doing yourself a disservice not considering an S2000. Cheap to buy, cheap to own, massively fun to drive while being a lot more practical than the Elise.

As a weekend/track car? Elise. I love my Cayman, but the Elise seems like it would be more fun as a weekend machine. However, for daily driving and also fun on weekends? Cayman every time. The Cayman is a bit more practical/comfortable than the Elise for daily driving, without giving very much up in fun.

realistically id chose the cayman but only because idk if i could fit in an elise/exige.
