Whiteline sway bars Q
 

Hi guys,

I have been wondering about getting a slightly thicker front and/or rear bar to introduce some added grip into the mix. I have used a lot of whiteline products in the past and they have not disappointed unless I see some negative comments in your replies.

Anyways, I have been looking at their 20mm bar, but then also noticed they have the 16mm for the rear. Have any of you (and I am sure there are many) installed both front and rear bars? How does this change the overall handling characteristics? Any comparison with just the front or rear bar installed? It would be nice if the bars actually contributed to additional grip and higher cornering speeds generally without altering the balance too much.

FYI, I'm running 215/45/17 Neovas square and tein flex with 7kg/mm front and rear. I do mostly canyon runs and while I like the front vs rear balance generally, i wish to have slightly more front end grip. Camber set at 2.4 front and 2.2 rear. I guess I COULD spend extra money to get some LCAs and see if that helps with my goal but I really like the way the rear wheels sit at the moment! :)

Thanks suaveflooder. Comments from autox guys would be awesome as most of the roads i drive on would be similar (tight, narrow 30 to 90mph+ corners).

I upgraded to the Whiteline 20mm(front)16mm(rear) adj with adj endlinks. I am running the RCE springs on the factory struts. I have the Whiteline COMCs and camber bolts in the front. The front bar is on the softest (of 2) settings. The rear bar I usually set to the softest (of 3) settings. At event sites where the traction is higher I will move the rear bar to the medium position to get the rear of the car to rotate more easily.

Thanks whataboutbob. Did you actually notice any improvement in grip levels by using thicker bars or is the benefit only really in relation to adjustability?

I felt that the car was more planted. In the turns it just felt natural if that makes sense. When I upgraded the bars I had also done the camber bolts and the RCEs at the same time.
