Clear Coat is totally F****d up.

All the various droppings, seeds etc... have left numerous marks on my clearc oat, even after careful washing. The hard to see and photograph, they appear as slightly more whitish blobs than the background clear coat, kind of like stains. I have never had this happen on a car before.

Why is this under recalls/TSBs?

Razz 10-03-2013 03:42 PM

Because they didn't make a seperate thread for warrenty/recalls.

They added issues to the thread title.

This is an issue.

It would be nice if it was seperate as in most forums.

Normal.

tech4pdx 10-03-2013 04:31 PM

It is clearly NOT normal, but it is the subpar quality of Subaru paint.

ubersoph 10-03-2013 04:35 PM

Uh... normal. Just clean up the crap/etc before it etches the paint. Only thing you can do to address this.

Normal quality of Subaru paint then. You happy?

Repaint it, wait a few weeks then opticoat it. Our detailer does an amazing job on Opticoating

Sounds like an extremely expensive solution to a factory issue.

Try taking to the dealership you bought it from. Maybe they will/won't laugh at you.

Repainting isnt cheap, lucky for me i got half my car repainted after an accident, and that paint held up nicely. Another thing you can do is detail it, and opticoat or clearbra it.

Draco-REX 10-03-2013 05:16 PM

Have a detailer give it a full correction. Then, I'm told Opticoat helps with stuff like this, maybe get that done to the car after.

It's what makes a Subaru, a Subaru.
