Tire Size and Ecutek Tune - Stupid question
Hey guys,
Noob warning here. I'm scheduled at EFI Logics to get a Ecutek tune done. However my new wheels (18x9.5) won't be ready in time. I was wondering if doing a tune with my stock tires will give me different results? I ask because I understand that they put the car on a dyno for the fine tuning. Thanks for the help guys! |
The stock wheels/tires will give you a higher HP reading than the bigger/heavier setup. It won't affect anything w/ your tune as far as needing compensate for them.

Thank you, sir!

another tire/tune question.
Can a tune correct the speedometer for a different rolling radius? |
I haven't seen that listed as a feature for any of the tuning solutions, so I don't believe they can.

you can adjust the MT gear position calculation, which may need to be adjusted if you change tire size. not sure how significant it is, but it is an available map (i think it's in revolutions per mile or something like that).
