Highest RWHP *FULL* Bolt-Ons? (Looking for 200-215)

Hello, as the title says I'm wondering what the highest HP someone has gotten out of a BRZ while staying NA and not doing any internal work on either 91 or 93 octane. I'm looking for 200-215 RWHP in a MT car, is that feasible? I mean headers, cat delete, catback, throttle body, intake, custom dyno tune, anything else I should look at? Also, if there are ways to hit higher numbers than that I am not opposed, I'm just looking for the most NA RWHP without going inside the motor and thought 200~ would make a good target, thank you in advance! People said this was the forum to come to!

Without E85 good luck. I just don't see it happening :)

Stickers and lots of them!

I haven't seen it happen, I also haven't seen anyone try as far as throttle body and everything else. I think it can be done on 93 I've seen people get close with just a tune and full exhaust

Get it all

But you will need every bolt on to get close to 200HP without E85. Prove us wrong :)

I don't see it happening. Besides, most posted dyno numbers are just that.. numbers. They have little meaning except for the guy using them to track his own progress. Get *every* bolt-on you can think of and a tank of E85 (with proper tune!) and you might get close, but I'm skeptical.

You could try your best by buying all those bolt ons, but once you own them why not get E-85 and release their potential :)

Bob @driftoffice got 195whp on 92oct with just exhaust....I think it's possible to hit 200+ but it will be a little while for good intakes to come out as well as manifolds and TBs.

It depends how your dyno reads. I'm hitting 193 catted on a local dyno (160 stock) but only hit 174 on the Dynosty dyno. I've some dyno's read 170 for stock pulls. If i dynoed there I'd be in the 205 range for sure.

On E85 i was at 204 on the same dyno. Uncatted would push it up 3-4 hp.

195 was on the HKS EL setup. I managed to get 198WHP on a prototype T1R EL header from AJR in Vancouver, BC. This was in summer, and after the car was on the dyno for about 4 hours. You should be able to replicate 200WHP with 93 octane with little issue, no comment on E85 though. :)

I think I'll be doing one if not two of their production EL headers soon!

@nbrigdan : Look up Ben or Jacky and they'll fill you in... @AJ PwR

Cheers!

Skip the TB, the stock one is huge for a 2L engine and until the cams/heads can flow more air you won't need a bigger one at all.

Good headers, full exhaust and a good intake plus a tune should get you close or over 200whp depending on the dyno/weather/etc.

I honestly think it's possible especially after taking notes from some pretty famous s2k builds, the motor seems to have potential at this point it seems the real limit is tuning , once people master the d4-s system we will be looking at a very potent motor.

wparsons 10-02-2013 05:26 PM

I don't think the limit is tuning... it needs cams, and possibly head work, to get it breathing up top. Getting this engine to breathe above ~7k rpm is the key to higher hp. Look at any non FI dyno and they all fall off at the same point.

If you can keep the torque curve flat to 8000rpm (150wtq), that's 230whp. No amount of tuning is going to do that without cams.
