Nameless Street axleback and high flow cat package sound?!
Hey doods,
So, power/performance is more important to me than sound.. in fact, too much sound is a huge turn off for me and an attraction to the police. I am choosing the nameless exhaust because they produce some power (especially the op/downpipe piece). I called and was about to purchase this op/downpipe piece and was encouraged to get the full exhaust they offer 2.5". My end game is to get headers.. absolutely.. as power is more important than everything I am torn, if I get this full package and headers later what the hell is my car going to sound like?!?!? I figured just the OP/downpipe with stock back would give me the power I need and keep it more quiet. later get headers. however, Ryan reminded me about the weight savings from doing the entire kit as well some of the restrictions the stock muffler will cause when I get a header vs the 5" muffler, full kit they offer. please educate?!?!! I really, REALLY dont want something that is so loud I have to be careful every time I rev this car.... believe me I rev it a lot. ... in the same sense, if I want power.. am I really leaving a lot on the table if I don't get the full piece and only get the op/downpipe portion? If I place my order by Thursday I can be on the next batch and have it shipped sooner than later. thanks, Josh |
I believe they offer a muffler & resonated version of axle back, and resonated front pipe. If you combine these 2 I'm sure the sound increase wouldn't be much.
I'm not so certain though because from what I've heard from Nameless header (what videos were posted in the thread) it does seem considerably louder than stock. I think either way, if you go header you're going to get a decent dB volume increase but I wouldn't think a fully resonated and muffler setup would be much louder than stock catback? |

I should have stated that I would be getting the resonated and 5" muffler with the kit. the resonator comes as part of the OP/downpipe part... the rest of the exhaust piece does not have another resonator.. just the 5" muffler. I am just so scared of doing the whole kit.. getting a header and being embarrassed to drive it anywhere. thanks for the input. I gotta decide tomorrow to be on the earliest shipment.. either OP/downpipe with resonator or full exhaust! Will this full exhaust give me gains worthy ganes of the extra $500 - 600 I spend? or, with a header.. will I be doing great performance wise and not suffering from a stock muffler.. |

Nameless catted front pipe with helmholtz resonator and 5" centered axleback: (go to 1:50)
[ame]http://youtu.be/JOLmmJxcD2w?t=1m52s[/ame] Added a JDL cattless uel header: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHRMmWSMEyo&feature=player_embedded"]2013 BRZ with UEL Headers - YouTube[/ame] It's ALOT louder. Great sound and no drone but it's a bit too loud for me to want to get on it anywhere that's not relatively isolated. Here is an old nameless video with their old equal length header. It is going to be loud with headers. The Nameless system isn't too bad with the stock resonator because its so large. My 3" on the other hand is really loud, even with two smaller resonators. I knew that going into it though.

If it is too loud can you throw another resonator on it later?

What Nameless system did you have, cause i just finished installing my op/ov pipe with cat and helmozt rezi with 3" offset axel back and its not loud at all. the sound kind of reminds me of a 2JZ or VR6 Motor. i dont have a header so that may change things alittle. |

Just wait till you hear my system.... lol. I'm already afraid of it with the stock header. My JDL UEL will be here in a few weeks, then it's going to be insane.
