I'm at work, but none of our government buddies are here to approve/authorize our work.

So... really it's just a waste of time.

kanundrum 10-01-2013 10:12 AM

I was told not to come in, I could care less.

See that would annoy me, why not just tell everyone to take the day off if no work can be done anyway? Seems stupid to me.

If I don't come in to work, I don't get paid. Since I'm not a government employee, I still have other stuff to work on.

Damn so youre not going back to work until the governments are back? If so good luck haha.

I'm not a government employee so I wouldn't know for sure, but I thought I read that the time off will be unpaid? Isn't this a bad thing for those that are told to stay home?

Yuuup, it's a big F U to all the people who rely on that paycheck to put food on the table. Glad we elected people concerned about "the economy" so they could stop the single largest employer in the country from writing paychecks.

It's all theoretical though, they don't have that much power, the world keeps turning and 90% of the population continues on as if nothing is different.

Edit: although they could use vacation time to keep the paycheck coming in theory, not sure on the details, I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will chime in.
