scionowners: A Revealing Look at the FR-S

http://scionowners.com/html/images/a...asureing07.jpg
Did you ever wonder how aftermarket companies get products to market so quickly after a brand new model has been released? You're about to find out.
http://scionowners.com/html/images/a...asureing16.jpg
All those aftermarket parts-makers need inspiration and measurements to be able to start work on their products – so Scion made the FR-S available for just that.
http://scionowners.com/html/images/a...asureing01.jpg
Five FR-S models were present. A few on the ground, a couple in the air. One with removed interior components. Another with removed wheels.
http://scionowners.com/html/images/a.../scionlogo.jpg
One black (Raven), one white (Whiteout), one red (Firestorm), one orange (Hot Lava), and one silver (Argento). All amazing.

Some companies used computers to take detailed specs of the engine bay…
http://scionowners.com/html/images/a...asureing05.jpg
Lots of wheel guys came and took measurements of the wheels and wheel-wells…
http://scionowners.com/html/images/a...asureing12.jpg
Interior and audio companies measured and poked around the inside…
http://scionowners.com/html/images/a...asureing21.jpg
Brake covers and radiators were measured for…
http://scionowners.com/html/images/a...asureing15.jpg
Suspension and exhaust components were talked about…
http://scionowners.com/html/images/a...asureing06.jpg
There was even this funny looking playdoh-like stuff used to measure the amount of space between the engine and the hood…
http://scionowners.com/html/images/a...asureing10.jpg
Every part of the new FR-S was looked at…talk about revealing!
http://scionowners.com/html/images/a...asureing08.jpg
While those present had a purpose at hand, they were also excited to get to see this much anticipated Front-engine Rear-wheel drive Sportscar up close!
http://scionowners.com/html/images/a...asureing18.jpg
Even HPI was ready with a pre-production FR-S RC racer which looks pretty authentic!
http://scionowners.com/html/images/a...asureing09.jpg
If it were up to me, I would've grabbed the key and speed on out of there…
http://scionowners.com/html/images/a...asureing29.jpg
...but I'm waiting like everyone else! Getting a view from the driver's seat will have to be enough to hold us all over. It won't be much longer until the FR-S arrives at your local Scion dealer!

Man I want the whiteout so bad. It's what I asked my dealer for. He's got mah cash monies. I'm so impatient! I'm 3rd in line though, so hopefully everyone else wants other colors.

It would look a lot better if they moved it down more, something like this!

Clearance from engine to hood -- that's gotta be for a blower or TMIC :D

When I did the custom set up on my old Celica, I too thought clay would have worked well for this task.
