It's the little things...
Like the little metal flex tabs on the OEM (and replacement OEM pads) that put leverage on leading edge of the pad, pulling it away from the rotor face. This brilliant little detail goes a long way in reducing longitudinal tapering. I just replaced my pads the old ones, even with a few trips to the track, didn't show one iota of tapering.
Haven't seen this in practice in most vehicles. It's the little things... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...130926_001.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...130926_002.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...130926_003.jpg |
I suppose this isn't pertinent to racing or tracking the car so MODS if you want to relocate this thread that is OK.
Thanks. |
Saw those when I swapped out my brake pads. Didn't realize that's what they were for!

I don't remember mine having this on the stock pads when I replaced them, I'll have to take a look at them when I dig them out of storage.
