Daily Driver Tire Choice Poll

Just curious what tires folks are running as their daily driver tire. I've included some of the popular hybrid track tires as well.

I'm running Pilot Super Sports on stock wheels. Amazing tire.

I run RS3s but that is because I don't want to change tires for autocross. If I was only using them on the street though I would probably pick up a set of the Conti DWs (s for plural, not DWS). I have a set on my Legend and they are a good compromise for street performance. I can never use the RS3s at 100%, or even 80% for that matter, on the street.

I had picked up a set of bf comp 2 for about $350 installed. Not bad for the price.

Probably going super sport next.

Super Sports or bust!

Michelin Pilot Sports but in A/S reason is they still are a awesome tire like the super sports but QUIETER and more ambient temp flexible.

I believe the consensus for multi-purpose track & daily duty tires have been the Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Price I think is the biggest reservation people have on the tire. It has slightly worse dry grip (compared to popular track only tires), but better wear and wet performance.

this wasn't listed, but for the price its one of the best performance DD friendly tires you can buy. i ran them on my sti and loved them. however i now have RE-11's and i'm not that thrilled with them

I tried to capture as many tires as I could so I appologize if your tire of choice isn't listed but the feedback is still valuable.

I run the DW's because:

1. Price:Performance ratio
2. Reviews and tread life
3. Great wet traction and its a year round tire for me
4. Handles well with a bit more PSI (36-37 PSI)

dsgerbc 09-26-2013 01:27 PM

Personally, I hated supersofts on the street. Kills the joy at street speeds. Get a dedicated wheel/tire set for track.

I'd go for something like S04, or maybe even UHP A/S tire like RE970. The idea is NOT to give yourself much more dry grip, but improve wet grip over OEM Michelins.

Michelin PSS and very happy with them. Great traction and wet performance. Very quiet and smooth. You definitely want much more dry grip on the track.
