VTR 5th Annual Food Drive!!!

VTR's Annual Holiday food drive starts Oct 1st!

Here are the rules: Each forum will be given a designated area for there donations. On November 22nd the Friday before Thanksgiving we will transport all of the donations to the Everett VOA for the weigh in.

The forum with the most donations gets on the perpetual plaque in our showroom. Last year the Evo forums won. Who will it be this year? Time to get organized and show that your crew understands how important community involvement is.

If you know someone who hasn't been working, or has had to take a job with less pay. You should be donating.

Recommended items:

Canned foods
Dry food
anything non-perishalble
Here are some other items recommended on the VOA website.

Baby essentials, including diapers, baby wipes and formula
School supplies and backpacks, leading into school
Summer camp equipment and supplies
Holiday toy and gift drive
Shoes and boots - anytime!
Household and laundry cleaners, toiletries and feminine personal hygiene products

Cash donations will be taken again this year. Remember $1 is = to 3lbs of food.

In the last four years this food drive has donated over 24,000 lbs of food to the food bank. Time to dig deep and help those less fortunate than us.

Thanks
The VTR Crew

I don't see the point in buying foods when $1 is 6lbs of food

Everyone donates at their comfort level. Some people like bringing in actual food, for others it is just easier to bring in money. Either way the Volunteers of America appreciate it very much!

Where do you go to donate?

Happy Friday everyone. After speaking with Kathleen Dale at the (VOA) about our food drive, she informed me of some alarming facts. The most alarming is that because of inflation, the $1 now is equal to just 3lbs of food. Upseting yes, but just allows a stronger push to become the winner.

-In September at the Everett Food bank they served 2,353 familes were served, totaling 4,783 individuals.

-During September in Snohomish county 33,495 individuals were served. For a total of 815,604 lbs in 20 food banks.

With the holidays approaching these number are only going to get bigger.
The Volunteers of America and VTR thank you for your support.

Another week has started. This forum currently sits in 3rd place.

LX forum 685 lbs of food
NASIOC 590 lbs of food
ft86club 120 lbs of food

Look in the pantry or scrounge up some change. Every little bit helps.
