Exhaust Suggestions

Hey Everyone!

So I've been looking around for an exhaust and was wondering do you guys have any suggestions on an exhaust. My main thing I want in my exhaust is a nice deep, mature sounding exhaust. Not really into the whole raspy type exhausts. I am also looking for one with zero drone. Any exhaust I should be looking at? I've been looking at Perrin when I first was looking for an exhaust but would like to know if there is other options that are out there that would fit my needs. Thanks!

Q300 kinda quite if you done mind that but you can always add a front pipe

frs10 09-24-2013 11:45 AM

i would go TRD

"Deep + Mature" probably the TRD. As for drone, it has some occasionally, but then again, there really is no such thing a 100% ZERO drone aftermarket exhaust. Every system is gonna have its own resonance. Its up to you to decide what is acceptable by listening to them in person.

perrin resonated

rapidcars 09-24-2013 12:14 PM

I have the Perrin un-resonated and it gives off the the nice deep sound you're looking for. Go resonated if you're concerned about it being too loud though the un-resonated isn't even that loud.

I second rapidcars statement.

Perrin resonated. i have the header-back and it sounds great. exactly what your lookin for.

Nameless 5" Off-Set Axleback (and catted front pipe if you want it). Deep tone, no drone, no rasp. Best exhaust I've heard online and also now, in person. Perrin resonated is way too quiet for my taste, but works nicely when you add things like headers.

Go with the the Perrin resonated. It is really quiet but it sounds great. You can even add a catted frontpipe and it will still be pretty quiet, that's what I did. Plus it comes with a lifetime warranty. If you are planning a full exhaust this is your best bet(as I am).

Hope this isn't a threadjack, but I am looking for the same thing for my BRZ (loud, but not obnoxious) and decided to go with a Perrin. My question is should I go for the 2.5" or 3", and whether adding a frontpipe and overpipe are 1) worth it, and 2) what's the best combination with the front and overpipe - resonated, unresonated, 3", 2.5" etc.

Thanks.

I believe that the 2.5" Resonated setup would be the right fit for what you are looking for. It also allows you to have the option of getting a header and not having it get raspy and obnoxious.

If you are wanting a decent amount louder than stock, and do not plan on adding a header, I would personally suggest the 3" front pipe/catback that we offer. The 3" exhaust is resonated and it sounds great!

The combo I would recommend for you - Overpipe / 3" Front Pipe / 3" Catback.

If you have any questions that I can answer to help you guys decide, please feel free to ask! :happyanim:

If you're looking for a nice deep tone that gives the FR-S a classy and throaty tone we have two options available, both with a significant reduced amount of drone. We don't advertise no drone because we believe there is no such thing as no drone even if it is a stock exhaust. We do however do a very good job in reducing drone in-cabin while retaining a very excellent sounding outside sound.

GRiP Version, for a refined throaty tone

DT-S Version, for a deeper and slightly louder tone

Optional test pipe with an ARK Helmholtz to ensure the cabin stays quiet and not too annoying!
