Raceland Coilovers.... $499
 

Raceland has some coilovers on the way in October at the lowest price on the market, $499. Im actually trying to get them to sell some with free shipping for the members here. So that would be $499 shipped for adjustable coilovers. Pm me if interested. (Update) The camber plates are included, and they are working on an installation video. I'll try to get some installed pics from their test vehicle as well.

Well to be fair. Everyone I knew of that had a fedd up ride. Had there raceland coils slammed to the ground. I never seen a heard of a set with a normalish drop go bad. Just remember you get what you pay for.

yea thats what i was thinking. If you go with a modest drop and you dont plan on weekly track abuse then you should be fine. If you ride around dumped on any setup for too long something is going to fail no matter the brand. These are just a start for me so when I get more serious into motor sports and I actually learn how to tune suspension then I'll go take a more expensive route.

What are these made out of? Plastic?

FWIW when I got my E36 the owner had raceland coils on it and they were on pretty much max drop. I adjusted them to a mild drop from stock ride height until I was able to replace the suspension and attend to other issues, but they drove fine and all the welds/construction looked OK.

Spring rates were a bit wonky but as a pure slammed coilover they might work.
I'm pretty sure they are usually the cheapest coil if you want to slam your car.

Customer service was good, a real person answered the phone and actually shipped me replacement parts overnight (previous owner removed/threw out lower adjustable spring perch so that he could be as low as possible....)

Its a gamble when it comes to quality, but there are plenty of happy users out there with slammed cars.




That being said, I personally would not buy them

i think the issue is that these are going to be worse than stock. they are pretty notorious for being the cheapest way to slam your car but they arent fast. i would be surprised if they are better than lowering springs. that being said, they fill the market space down there.

I think $499 is actually expensive for Racelands lol. Might as well drop a couple hundred more for ST's...

Considering the time and hassle it takes to properly install, adjust and align would you want to deal with having a blown shock/strut, spherical bearing or saggy spring? And have to go through the time and expensive of re adjusting and aligning again?

Screw racelands I had a set on my old tc and they we're fine when I was dumped and the moment I tried raising them up to a more streetable height they blew and oil leaked everywhere.... two weeks later another local tc owner who had them had his start leaking and blow on him while driving to school (he never adjusted them after install)... then maybe another week another local driving an ep3 had his also blow on him out of the blue one day....

They are definitely not a reliable brand , and you get what you pay for with these....

Just a heads up, A couple of weeks ago when I was hanging out at Fortune Auto in Richmond, We got talking about Raceland.
Raceland coilovers are designed around OE quality struts. They are legitimately only for changing your ride height. There is absolutely no handling gain from them.

I tested coilovers for them last year on the 7th Gen celica.
I dropped them all the way and attempted to blow them every chance I got. I never could, but I guess it depends on what particular strut they design to weld onto.
Ride quality is purely dependent on how compressed the spring is and there are no dampening settings.


The guys at Fortune Auto ran into the Raceland guys at a trade show a couple of years ago and Raceland wanted Fortune Auto to source through them, Fortune Auto said no but in turn learned that Raceland literally only spends 45.00 USD in parts to build their coilovers.

Just some information for everyone.
My advice, get you a set of BCs, Fortune Autos or Tiens.
Don't waste your money on the Racelands, not so much because of blowing the strut itself, but being patient for a quality performance oriented coilovers will save you money and a heart ache in the long run.

dont waste your money on cheap coils. Get springs, it'll be 100x better

I know a bunch of vw hellaflush guys that use these and love them. BUT, they are only used for purely aesthetics. These are great coilovers if you want more of a low cruiser type of show car (like hellaflush/fail). I don't see a problem with that. But performance... not even close!

BC BR types are only 900 usually, and 1,000,000...times better.
