different wiring

About 2 months since the last post on this thread but I need help. I'm trying to do the same thing as op, v on with lights, triangle on when braking, no changes to reverse, but my wire's colors are different. The different colors are throwing me off and I don't wanna mess anything up. Either that or I'm just dumb.. I posted a pic, sorry for the bad quality, but if anyone can help I'd greatly appreciate it.

Before re-wiring:
https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8728/...6ebb311f_b.jpg After re-wiring: https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7373/...113478ac_h.jpg Follow that picture and you'll get the triangle to turn on separately from the V when you hit the brakes. You do not need to solder anything. Just cut and crimp. |
Man all of this looks really stressful and complicated. I don't like the flashing triangle, and frankly wouldn't mind just getting rid of the triangle's function altogether. Is there a simple way to do this? Maybe just a certain wire I can cut to disable the triangle but leave the V and reverse lights functioning normally? Any help would be much appreciated

i just followed Shadow017 instructions from the first page, but instead of red, i do have an orange wire, so i just connected the blue and orange, works perfect!! ty

How do you wire up the valenti reverse light to make the " V " light up with the running lights, no brake light at all, and reverse no change? Any way to do this without removing the lamp from the vehicle?. I had to pull my rear diffuser and pull muffler hangers just to remove my reverse light and would rather not have to go through that again. |

any idea how this reverse light needs to be wired to use it as just a reverse light, and make the " V " light up with running lights but no triangle light (no fog or brake)? I already installed it and i think i will have to remove the lamp and take it apart. Its a real PITA to remove though since i have to take off my rear diffuser and pull muffler hangers just to get it out. |
Here is how i wire it,
The new board have the V band on its own post everything else is the same https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...116_231853.jpg The Red wire form the Fog light get tap the the Green lead of the V band. Make a Bridge form the Brake like wire to the origional Fog light post |
Hello so i have never posted before so if anyone doesnt understand just pm me. All of these either didnt apply to my light or didnt really explain anything that I could see. So i bought the Valenti reverse smoked(i believe it is the version 2 people call it). My problem was that this post was only for the original version.
Caution this will require you to solder but it is not complicated Im going to explain how to make the V light up all the time with the DRL's, reverse with reverse and the red triangle come on with the brakes. if you want the f1 style flash then you dont need to make any changes. if you want no stop light and just the v and reverse light that will be explained at the end Step 1 take the 10 black screws off the back (I dont have a picture because that one seemed pretty straight forward) Step 2 look at the insides of your light very confused step 3 look closely the 3 mid soldering points say stop fog and gnd(ground). now all you are going to do is De-solder the black and orange from stop and red from fog. step 4 move the black and orange to fog and the red to the green wire on the left side of the board Now your light is wired so that the v will be on with drls and the triangle will come on and not flash with your breaks If you do not wan the triangle to come on then all you need to do is disconnect the connector that the black and orange go into and leave it dangling. The next step is to go this video [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jrFASjxwWQ"]DIY: Scion FR-S / Subaru BRZ Valenti Tail Light Installation - YouTube[/ame] and go to 4:04 and follow the directions on how to tap into the tail light wires. I am so sorry my pictures are to big to upload but if you have any questions or need help please pm because this really isnt hard at all and reading alot of these posts made me more confused then just thinking about it. Hope that this can help in any way possible |

V always on solid triangle on brake normal reverse light |

I ended up following the same pattern as j_motion to get...
V always on Triangle flashes on brake Normal reverse function For reference, I hooked this up to the Valenti Revo tail lights. Your blue wire should connect to the green wire Your red wire should connect to the green/white wire |
