racing seat on stock rails?

quick question, for those that have removed the stock seat, are the bracket side mount or bottom mount?

when replacing the seat w aftermarket, is it possible to re use the stock rails and sliders?

thanks

BRIDE 'FG' type rails for aftermarket seats on the ZX6. Can't reuse the stock rails and sliders unless your really hand with metalwork and don't mind butchering the seat.

5 year necro lol but I wanted to put this out there.

The driver's side rails are held on by 7 bolts: 3 on the outside rail (door side) and 4 bolts on the inside (seat belt side).

I was able to reach all of them are except for a middle inside rail bolt, which required me to slot out the metal seat belt bracket with an angle grinder so I can turn the wrench (see pic). The metal peice is solid af so I don't think it's weakened, so, IMO, the process is reversible. All the bolts are sort of tricky to reach, you may have to remove some plastic covers, etc..

IMO you absolutely should use the stock rails. Compared to the aftermarket ones, they are significantly more sophisticated and more thoroughly engineered. There are simply way more parts. The action is also buttery smooth and the fitment is, of course, perfect. There are plenty of mounting points for seat brackets (see pic). You will need some additional nuts and bolts though.

It makes me think how they even installed the seat rails in the first place... It seems no one can remove the rails without grinding out the bolts... Is it possible to separate the slider or has anyone been successfully been able to remove the rails from the oem seat without damaging them?

I wonder if there is proper OE seat rail removal/installation procedure somewhere in toyobaru service docs to solve that mistery
