iOS7 on iPhone 4 (Regular non-s)

My work phone is a regular 4 and I'm afraid the update will bog my phone like mad! Anyone done it?

husker741 09-20-2013 01:24 AM

I did it on my 5. If I wanted a droid, I would've bought one. Fucking Apple.

on my 5 it actually feels faster and smoother that ios 6. Very happy.

It seems like they steal more and more Android features with every update.....

Beware about the battery consumption though. Either disable some stuff in the settings (like the parallax effect) or just bring a power bank

Battery life in iOS 7 is worse than iOS 6.1.3 and 6.1.4 across the board, though the amount by which it is worse varies from device to device. In most cases, the gap is half an hour or less, which is true for the iPad mini and iPad 4 and the iPhones 4 and 4S. The fifth-generation iPod touch fares slightly worse than this, losing 50 minutes of battery life in the transition to iOS 7.

apple steals from android, android steals from apple... at the end of the day they both stole from star trek !

Did it on my 4, and yes it's quick and smooth.. It took 4 hours to complete.. Did this over night while it was plugged in..

If anything it's faster on my 4s, had to delete a bunch of stuff, updates HUGE.

Overall, I like it, most change I've seen in my iPhone since I got it, love the flip up screen with brightness and wifi all right there, way more accessible.

How do I get iOS7 on my HTC Thunderbolt?

BlaineWasHere 09-20-2013 02:03 PM

Ok people. Not looking for anything EXCEPT people running iOS7 on a standard 4.

I want to hear about those peoples experiences. Telling me how it runs on your faster phones (4s/5) doesn't help me at all.

They've stolen significantly more since Jobs passed. He was very stubborn about doing what he wanted how he wanted and you better like it. It's nice to see Apple owners now being able enjoy the kinds of things the rest of us have had for years. Maybe they'll even get widgets on iOS8.

I just updated my work phone (Iphone4) to IOS7. I'm sure there's some settings I can change but initial view is it's much slower. Not that it's operating slower but the animation and "prettyness" from app to app, screen to screen is just slower. Icons "flying in", the slow fade out of sleep... It's just a bunch of aesthetic BS that makes the experience suck... So far. On the face of it, nothing's really better.

Makes me appreciate my WP8 phone (personal) even more.

Updated my years-old iPhone 4 at 2 pm the day it came out (girl made me, I'm not a big techie). I haven't noticed any bugs and DEFINITELY worth it. My phone bogs some every once in a while, but I think it's because they keep updating iOS for new phones and mine is getting left behind. There's features that should have been here a long time ago like that screen that comes up from the bottom with all the most used stuff on it.

Works fine, do it.
