Quick question about opti guard

Hey everyone this is a question for all you detailers

Im probably going to get my car detailed with opti guard this weekend and I saw that it was going to rain, usually i don't really mind but since opti guard is more permanent, i was wondering if rain will affect the opti guard?

Thanks to whom ever helps

I would wait till you have a couple of clear days before applying opti guard, or if you apply it leave it in the garage for a couple of days.

Do you know about Cquartz finest?? I've been told that for dark colored cars it's better then opti coat/ opti guard.. It's a product I haven't heard of until a month ago, now I put off opti coat until I really find out if it's better or not.. Seems to be an awesome product as far as the hydrophobic properties, not sure about scratch resistant properties yet over opti coat

It's worth it. I heard its expensive up in Canada, but it's absolutely amazing.

Yeah its a bit expensive but my appointment is on a day with chance of rain ..i ask my detailer and he said it will be fine and no water spots will show..and if they do just to rub it of with a quick detailer

As an installer of Opti Coat Pro....I've spoken directly to Dr. G (chemist) at Optimum about rain. Its rain safe after 1 hr of application. I like to give the cars a good 2hrs before I let them go in rain, and if they can stay warm during that time, thats ideal.

NO DETERGENTS on the coating for a week is recommended, just use spot free water is possible.

Cheers,
GREG

How good is opti coat pro compared to cquartz?

Ive read it and got mixed reviews

Greg Nichols 09-21-2013 12:34 PM

Cquartz looks a bit better IMO

OCP better at bugs coming off w/o staining and water spots don't etch as easily.

IMO they each are for different uses. If you have a daily driver I would go OCP, if you have more of a weekend driver that you will maintain more frequently CQ

Cheers,
GREG
