Unichip + Fluxx2 and an OBDII "Y" Splitter

@Unichip Jack

Before I purchase an OBDII "Y" splitter, I was wondering if you knew if it is possible to run the Fluxx2 and an OBDII logger simultaneously via "Y" splitter. If so, do you have a recommendation on the splitter? Thanks in advanced.

Thanks for the post.

We've never tried it, but I suspect you'll find issues because the devices don't just "listen," but they actively send data request on the data bus for the information they want.

When one asks a question, the other isn't looking for the same information at the same time and it doesn't know what happened to the data it wants, so it asks again and both will probably shut down until things return to normal.

Cheers

Y Cable and Flux works

I just installed the "Y" cable and the unichip and the BT1 works perfectly so far. I am able to log the same parameters that the Flux2 is monitoring as well.

which y cable did you get and what is BT1

@garfull

It was some random splitter I found on eBay. Something to note. Get a cable with the male end at a 90deg angle. I had to relocate my OBDII port because of this oversight.

The BT1 is what I use to interface my iPhone or computer to the car for logging signals via OBDII. Its from GoPoint Tech.
