Not at all buddy! I have their full Revo S2 kit in my car and it makes a huge difference. it goes up to 4000rpm's very quick. needless to say however, that I have 2.75 over pipe and front pipe so they make a difference too.

But no, i have not been paid to do that. I did my research on line on all light weight pulleys and they had one if not the lightest on the market. I give credit where is due.

So in your case going from a 1.2 lb Perrin pulley to a .8 lb Raceseng pulley was a better decision than going from the 4.9lb stock pulley to the 1.2 lb Perrin pulley? Sorry but that simply does not compute to me although I sense your enthusiasm for the Raceseng pulleys.

I didn't mean to upset you but the way you said that the very marginal improvement from a Perrin pulley to a Raceseng pulley was "the best decision ever" was humorous to me. I don't know you, that may well have been your best decision. If so, I am indeed sorry in more ways than one... :)

Nothing at all wrong with Perrins pulley, I had it and decided just to keep everything same and went with Racesengs full kit. Neither pulley made any noise at all, and both show same or similar benifits overall so choosing either is all good. If you want full kit with all pullies not everyone at this time makes that so decide based on if you care to mix match, what you like for looks and what your budget overall is. Only one I have heard that makes noticeable noise was Kartboys one and thats not to say it's a bad pulley just that it makes a noticeable noise that some folks don't care for is all.

As far as comments on oil on bolt etc.. Mine did NOT have oil on it "factory one" and no I did not use oil in installing either the Perrin one or Raceseng one either. The MAIN thing to pay attention to is to keep the O-Ring on front in its channel while installing new one and that you do not force the keyway out of position in any way. To just install the crank pulley itself is a 5 minute job and ensure to torque proper value as well of course.

The Perrin pulley is heavy as shit.

Haha, no worries mate, i didnt want to sound too abrupt and sorry for that. Yeah, a bit of an exageration but you know what i mean. it was a good improvement over the perrin. I am not saying Perrin was bad, but maybe considering I have purchased the whole set, my opinion might've been biased. So all good,...now let's have a beer.

We made the PERRIN pulley a safe weight knowing that customers will eventually upgrade to a lightweight flywheel. Having been around for a long time with Subarus, we know that lightweight flywheels and light weight flywheels can cause misfire codes.

We of course could have made our pulley lighter, but we just wanted to be sure it'll be safe so customer's don't have problems in the future. We have made a prototype crank pulley that is a little lighter than the production model, we will do some testing on it, and may even change the pulley in the future.

When it comes down to it, being 1.2 lbs from 5 lbs is still going to be huge, and going .4 lbs lighter isn't really going to make much of noticeable difference when our pulley is already 3.7 lbs lighter than the factory part!

More on topic, I'm too cheap to buy a full pulley set since the greatest benefit by far is gained by replacing the crank pulley. I wanted the 1.0 lb Kartboy pulley but not being sure if the whine would bother me I opted for a red Perrin instead. However I will quickly concede that there are lighter and potentially "better" options like Raceseng.

Given some time has passed, just wondering if there have been more experiences or views between Perrin vs. Raceseng vs. Toda pulley kits. I can get the Raceseng and Toda ones for around the same price, but Perrin still much cheaper. Thanks.

Trying to stay under warranty.. not so much. Replacing the harmonic dampener with a solid aluminum pulley will most definitely not make dealerships happy.

Can a technically savvy person explain why having light pulleys and flywheel is bad for the engine? What, does it slow down too fast?

I'm not sure I would want this mod for any use case unless the balance has been changed elsewhere to account for it. Generally speaking, messing with intentionally placed mass on parts that rotate in the thousands of rpm's is a bad idea.
