Toyota GT86 TURBO vs McLaren MP4-12C
 

Hey guys,

Autocar.co.uk put this interesting video together to see how well a turbocharged GT86 can keep up with a McLaren MP4. The difference in specs between the cars is huge obviously, but the purpose of the test is simply to gauge how hard the Turbocharged 86 can push the MP4.

I tend to agree. Good video! :)

So a gutted, highly modified GT86 on slicks is maybe(?) as fast as the MP4 (with street tires and full interior?) in the corners but slower on the straights...?

I'm not saying their modded 86 isn't fast or a good car, but this video doesn't offer any real evidence of how fast it actually is (or isn't) in relation to the McLaren. Put similar tires on both cars, then have a good driver set lap times in both and then we can compare.
