My GoPro's Maiden Voyage

I finally bought a GoPro. BestBuy put them on sale and pulled the trigger. I went to an area that I knew that has some good roads that are part of a meet/run we do here in PA...*cough*.... I mean Mexico. I didn't get too crazy, plus I got stuck behind a truck and then a car at different point. I sped the video up in certain sections and slowed it down in another. The one car ruined the slo-mo part though as you will see when you watch the video.

Lovely Road(s).

Where did you mount the camera?

Cool video, but I'm not sure about the need to cross over the center double yellow lines through the corners. :iono:

I approve. Wish i could of made that drive myself.

I used the flat adhesive mount and stuck it to the bottom of the front bumper in front of the grill. I'm waiting for Raceseng to come out with different colors for their TugView Tow hook/GoPro mount.

Agree, it was unnecessary except for the one time around the 7:00 mark. There was a dog along side the road, plus the speed was 15-20mph. Actually didn't realize I did it as much as I did until after watching it back and keeping track.

It's definitely a nice road to go for a drive. Although, the GoPro doesn't do some of the turns justice as far as how sharp they are.

Try mounting it inside of the cabin, driver side. and as high as and as far left as you on the glass. Thats where i mount mine and it actually does a good job of capturing how hard your driving the car and the road conditions. I'm still paranoid of driving with it on the outside of my car.

You do not need to wait for aftermarket to come out with mounting system. Most gopro owners use what is available. Handlebar and roll bar mount do a very nice job. A lot of people use suction mount, others make one themselves. Just use a tripod mount + whatever the bolt pattern is and attach it to something.

I have 2.5 hero 3 blacks (one is on bottom of an alligator infested river so have to retrieve it).

I mount my cameras using the weirdest ways possible. I even used zip ties and duct tape. Browse youtube... there are tons of tips and tricks to mount gopros on cars.

Raceseng makes an awesome mount for the go pro, just sayin' :D

With tow hook...

Or just GP mount...

A handlebar mount on the stock tow hook works well too. Just need to put a 3/4" nut around the shaft to allow it to protrude enough for the handlebar mount.

I plan on getting one. I was talking with Jarret and they are planning on making the tow hooks in different colors so I'm waiting until that happens. I mentioned it in my earlier reply.

I know it's not needed and there are other options for a mount like others have stated, but I like the idea of the multiple uses of the product. By buying one, it also helps support a local business that makes nice parts and is only 30-40 minutes away from me. :w00t: I may even get one for the front and rear, but then I need to buy another GoPro.

I need to find an area where I can hoon it up safely and get some cool footage.

I've found that that by just mounting it on the dash of my FR-S, gives me a decent view and it's secure and handy to get to.
