a lot of people like sports cars for looks and the occasional WOT
I think "normal" people don't drive cars fast enough to care about "driving dynamics" nearly as much as a very minority of the population.
It's more about looking cool and being able to pull away from a red light. This means in order to sell sportscars, they need to look good and be priced right - just like the 86, ha! As much as I'd like to think everyone who drives an 86 knows a thing or two about driving sports cars, the reality I think is most 86 drivers like the car for its external appearance and perhaps a little bit of the go-cart feel. There are people who really love cars and they take great care of them but they aren't necessarily "drivers". They just love the styling and can live with the stiff'ish stock damping. I made this post because I'm bored out of my mind. It's completely pointless except maybe if Toyota read this, they will know that in order to sell sports cars, they must make them with the right price and styling that most people will love... Handling is the last of the things people care about... With that said, I'm really glad Toyota decided to go to Subaru to make this car... |

At lot of "car guys" would call you a hypocrite because you bought an automatic.
I use to be a manual elitist, but ever since i saw an automatic Dodge Stealth outrun a bunch of people on the race track with a 4 speed, i realized it's all in the driver, how smooth your steering is, proper use of brakes and etc. Though most people who buy Porsche's just buy it because its a Porsche. This will always be around. But it is a great thing, because we can buy these cars used from them at cheap prices! |
Ill say im glad this car came out because i just couldnt buy a miata because of how it looks...
