Is it your favorite?
Simple question: Is the FR-S/BRZ/GT86 the favorite car you've owned?
|
my 4th car, by far my favorite
|
I love my FR-s. It did not cost me $90K. Big smile on face.
|
In addition to other crapboxes, I've owned a 1990 Mazda RX-7 Turbo II, 1987 Toyota MR2 N/A and 1989 Supercharged, 1994 Toyota MR2 Turbo, 1973 Datsun 240Z, and 1989 BMW 325i and 1991 318is. I also leased a 2012 Audi S4 under the Audi employee lease program, and picked up a 2004 WRX STi for a winter vehicle after buying the BRZ. All the cars had their own unique things which made them great, but the BRZ has the whole package (for the most part)! Light, nimble, efficient, reasonably quiet and comfortable, and damn good looking! I just wish it had a better infotainment system because Audi MMI puts it to shame. I really can't think of a better car under $50k. I might replace it with a used Lotus Evora when it's paid off in 5yrs, or if I'm doing very well, a used Aston DB9.
P.S. I hate to say that my mostly-stock BRZ is preferred to my heavily modified MR2 that I've been tweaking for 6 years, but it just simply is. |
Simple answer is No....;)
The Supras yo.... |
For me, it was close between this and my old STI. The FR-S wins out though. Something about this car's philosophy clicks with me: light, fun, responsive, semi-practical, cheap. I prefer it over my GTI for daily driving, and I prefer it over my STI at the track. You would never guess that by looking at the specs on paper, where the GTI theoretically has the nicer interior and the STI is faster.
This car manages to be greater than the sum of its parts. |
NO... but really not far!!!
I loved my skyline R32.. Even tought i didn't use it nearly as much as my FR-S. Already have triple the mileage from the skyline :( |
My 69 Camaro is my favorite car and is also my dream car so it's something special to me. But this is the best DD/toy I've ever had.
|
An amazing combination of handling, comfort (e.g. when touring), economy (price & mpg) and safety. No problems with my car (chirps only a minor annoyance).
|
There are some things I like about this car and some things I liked about others. It's a cool car but not my favorite by any means
|
It qualifies as one of my favorites along with my previously owned Mustang, Corvette, Porsche 911, and two Miatas. If you consider the cost of the car that would probably make it 'the' favorite.
|
In a straight line ... not my favorite. In the twisties .... definately my favorite.
|
No. But I have been very happy with all 4 of the quality cars I've had so its tough. Performance is way under my 304whp 2004 Jetta GLI and less than my current 240wtq 35mpg Golf TDI. Handles on par with my suspension modded Acura RSX but its my first RWD. I've never owned a piece of shit before so definitely lucky there. I'm satisfied but getting happier by the day.

No, second best.
My S2000 was more fun to drive and looked better IMO. |
