[Help] Third Brake Light Re-attach

Okay, I got it myself this time. I did my best to draw how I gripped the housing. Hold both sides like the picture, and push up with your thumbs and down with your fingers while sliding the housing towards the rear windshield. Both sides snapped in to place rather easily. Before I was trying one side at a time with no luck. Hope this helps someone.

Removed the third brake light before tinting this weekend, and now I'm having trouble reattaching it. See picture below:

Does anyone know how to accomplish this? It's bugging the hell out of me! :thanks:

Probably has a plastic clip inside that you missed. Take it apart again and take a look at how it goes back together.

Yeah, I have, repeatedly. There is a clip inside, sort of in the middle, but it really seems like this is more on the edge.

I've stuffed towels under there to keep pressure on the underside, but I can't get it to clip. Thanks for the suggestion though!

My detailer was able to slide the tint in behind the light. Sorry for your issue that would but me as we'll.

Ah, so I tried again and finally got it. I'll update the OP.

I actually have this same problem when getting the windows tinted. The dealer couldn't get it on either, they said the piece must be warped and are ordering a new one in.

I have a problem with that piece popping open as well. Seemed to have been warped in the heat. I was able to get it back together though and haven't noticed it opening up since then. If it does open then I will probably go replace it at the dealership.

The same thing happened to me yesterday. Was it solved just by replacing the cover or did you also have to change the base?

Thanks
