Tire Recommendations
As the title states, looking to make an upgrade from the stock tires in the next few months.
As for the usage, I live in California so these need to be year round tires but won't see inclement weather unless you count rain. Most of the driving is my commute, weekend drives and an autox or two. I have heard good things about Michelin Super Sports, Hankook, and Falken tires. What I need is an actual recommendation and how these tires hold up. Much appreciated! |
I run pilot super sports and love them, but I haven't used them long enough to know much about how they wear yet. The grip is astonishing though, including in the rain.

I'm on my second set of falken azenis 453 and I love them. They are a cheaper alternative to michelin pilot supersport and perform almost as good. I got about 12k miles on my first set but I was pretty rough on them. I paid 130 per tire for the falken 453 where as the michelin pss I was shopping for was 200 per tire.

Im on bfg sport comps which are great compared to stock but I had a chance to drive an 86 yesterday on hankook rs3's. Dear god. We measured 1.24g's in some quick turns we tried. I had no idea the car was capable of making turns like that.

big question here is durability. How often are you going to want to change your tires?

+1 for Continental DW's. Love mine both dry and wet.

Thanks for the comments guys. I don't want to be tire shopping annually, so roughly 25-30K miles per set? Is that achievable

PERSONALLY. I don't like super grippy tires on this car, I've driven a few different set ups and i feel like it removes a bit to much of the oversteer. I'd go with a good medium grip tire. Hankook Ventus S1, is one. But theres a few others out there. |
Just picked up Pilot Super Sport's today and they are awesome. So sssssticky! Great cornering, that basically eliminated any tire hop from the softer stock sidewalls. Better highway stability...makes the car feel much more planted.
Amazing tire. Amazing, amazing, amazing. |
I really liked my nt01 from nitto grips nice but still gives you some slip angle when you want to have some sidways fun.
