Wire FR-S turn signals (LED switchbacks) as DRL?
 

I've got LED switchbacks for my turn signals, and I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to get them to light up white as DRLs, not just when the headlights are on. Ideally this would disable the DRL functionality on the high beams as well. I know you can modify the ECU via techstream to disable DRLs completely, but that's not what I'm going for here; I just want different lights to come on.

The stalk has 3 settings, 1st is all light off except DRL, 2nd is side markers, license plate, and will also turn your turn signal on too, 2rd is headlight.

Don't rewire it, just turn it to the 2nd settings.

Is there a way to make the lights in the second and third setting use the brightest filament all the time? Such as the turn going dimmer when its changing lanes instead of brighter or something?

...but then your brake lights go on and your interior displays dim.

this is exactly what I do when i just want my turn signal turn on and keep the DRLs.

I'm using flash back turn signal fom Hid-powerhouse but never seen them lighter or brighter during flashing. if you decide to go with flash back, good choice. the white led acts like foglight and really bright at night. I dont want my to be dimmer during flashing and back to normal again.


yeah. I used to to this but I dont mind the break light is on and during daytime. interior light is ok to me. I dont even notice it.

I personally don't care if my brake lights are on, but the idiot behind that is texting may not realize when they go bright.

Old thread REVIVAL!!! Anybody figure this out? I want to do the same.... What about just connecting the stock positive wire for the DRL to the green wire connected the the turn signal/parking lights? Any reason this won't work?
