My Trip to the Land of the Free (86Fest photos)

Over pretty much the whole month of August I got to go on the trip of a lifetime around a small part of the amazing country that is America.
It was a trip that had been planned for a while with my 3 brothers and Dad and it was unreal!

As luck would have it, We got into L.A on the same day as 86fest, so we hired a car and drove out to Fontana to check it out. I took a few photos of what I found;

The @staycrushing FRS, I've been following Rob on instagram for ages now so it was great finally getting to see the car in person. Was hoping to see it with the wrap on but he'd already taken it off haha.

It was such a cool event and just made me wish the same could be done over here.

The rest of the trip is another story but basically we hired Harleys (I got a 883 Sportster) and rode from LA - Vegas (Drove a 458 Italia and an Aventador) - Hoover Dam- Along Route 66 for a bit - Williams - Grand Canyon - Through Monument Valley - Mexican Hat - Trail of the Ancients - Up through the Glen Canyon - Continued up through Utah - Salt Lake City - Bonneville Salt Flats - Wendover - Winnimucca - Hawthorne - Mono Lake - Through Yosemite National Park - Got diverted by the massive fire to the 49 (An unreal bit of road) - Stockton - Fairfield - Bodega Bay on the coast - Down the coast (So much fun) - Across the Golden Gate in San Fran - Salinas - Monterey (Dropped in at Mazda Raceway on the way through, watched a bunch of Porsches and BMW's race around for a bit) - Rode Highway 1 down the coast, another unreal road (Unfortunately very busy on a Saturday Afternoon) - Santa Monica - Then just hung around LA for a couple days to finish off the trip

We covered 3000 miles (nearly 5000km) in just over two weeks and saw so many amazing things along the way. From complete desert to dense rain forest.
Basically I now love America and turns out I'm going back there in February haha

I wont clog up this thread with other pictures from the trip.
Maybe just one - my favourite. From the Salt Flats, me maxxing out the sportster

I'm glad you got through Stockton without any issue. I live here in Cali and even I hope to get a trip like that in!

Is there usually issues when going through Stockton?

Stockton is one of the more dangerous places in California. I actually lived there for four years and it was definitely fun. Before Detroit, Michigan, Stockton was the largest city that went bankrupt. Also, it tends to be a breeding ground for Mexican street gangs since its a full day's drive from the border. Some friends of mine got robbed at gunpoint on different occasions and we lived on the "nice" side of the city.

On the other side, if you have a boat, you win. If you take a look at google maps you can see the maze of waterways and channels. Many of my friends had boats and we'd basically spend all weekend on the water, jet skis and wake boarding. Those were good times.

the black frs with the asuka wing has that awesome 3-tip triangle exhaust like the LFA. although it looks like that third hole is just for show i can only clearly make out 2 tips. i was wondering if anyone would do that kind of mod and what it would look like on the 86.
the salt flats is a pretty epic pic, hunkered down in full race mode :thumbup:
