S/C or Turbo in the Atlanta area?

Sorry if this has been done, if so direct me there and I'll close this thread.

Wanted to know if there was anyone in the Greater Atlanta Area or even Near by surrounding states that is running a Turbo'd or S/C'd FRS. I've got the money to do it, just not sure what I want to do. The question isn't what gives more boost. Here is the issue. I have the extended warranty when I purchased the vehicle. It was bought thru fidelity bank. I don't want to buy a turbo and lose the extended warranty I paid for. And I can do the TRD s/c and keep the warranty if a toyota dealer does the work. So what do you guys think? I'm not sure if I can get a refund on the warranty, but I was told I might be able to do so. I'm just concerned that I'm going to get the TRD s/c and not like it. Anyone? Any info is greatly appreciated. I'd rather talk to someone who has one on their frs than someone speculating how it will do.

TRD S/C? The racing application one that you have to buy 2 of, bringing the total cost to $50k? I havent heard of anyone getting it, and dont expect to hear it any time soon. So currently, the only way to boost your FRS (turbo or s/c) is to use an aftermarket one and lose your warranty. However, there are a few of those down here in the florida panhandle. @king_tut and @kmbcc are both turbo'd. I dont know about Atlanta area.

Whats the deal with the TRD s/c? I haven't heard anything about it. Then again I haven't done a whole lot of research either. I briefly talked to the toyota service manager where I bought the car. (bought 5 cars from that dealership actually and they take care of any problem I've ever had so I trust them)

He quoted me $4400 for the kit and $700 labor to install it.

I dont know what kit he was quoting you, but there isnt a TRD supercharger kit available to the general public. There is a racing application TRD supercharger, which costs something like $26,000, and comes with the stipulation that you have to buy 2 of them. I have heard of some dealerships that were willing to install aftermarket superchargers or turbos, but the one person I have heard of doing that (FRS300) blew up his engine. It is thought to be a bad install, but there is no proof and the dealership, even though they installed it, refused the warranty. They claimed it was the fault of the turbo kit. His FRS/BRZ has been at FA20club for months now as they have been rebuilding the engine.

Shit, I need to get the part number he was quoting me then. Must have been talking out of his ass or using a s/c for a different car. Either way I'm not sure. I will find out tomorrow and see what they say. Thanks for the info. Yea I hate to lose the warranty. I haven't had any issues like CEL or some of the other disaster stories I've read on here, but afraid I might once I do a turbo or s/c and then get stuck with a big ass paper weight.

I'm not looking to drag race or race anyone... I just want more umpth you know.

Definitely get a part number and description, a printed out description, something. I personally am still looking at getting the innovate kit with the intercooler...eventually. I am changing jobs and locations in the next 90 days..so I have to wait for now. Let me know what he tells you tomorrow.

Yea man I will let you know. If I void my warranty its going to be for the @FullBlown kit. I've been seeing their kit. I'd drive my car up and let them do it while I bullshit around their area and pick it up and drive it home when they are done... which is what I've been leaning really hard towards...

You wont be disappointed if thats the route you go. I've had a ride in Tut's car and it was impressive to say the least.

Yea I watched a video he posted. He was taking it easy on it. Was trying to find the link where he got into it more but couldn't. Yea the guys over at @FullBlown have done a good job from what I've seen. All the plumbing looks good and its a clean install. I have the money to do it, just don't want the turbo to fuck the engine up and then get stuck and not able to fix it. Like I said, I don't want to track it, its just a daily driver when ever I am home... I've been on the road for the past 4 months. I think I've put maybe 5000 on it since January, if that give you any idea of how much I miss it... Her name is Anastasia!

I live in the Atlanta area and am getting my fa20club turbo installed next week. Top speed motorsports in alpharetta will be doing the install for me and Toni @FA20Club.com will be dyno tuning remotely. Do your research on your warranty questions. From what I have read it seems like the burden of proof is on the dealer to prove your aftermarket parts damaged the car. Just having them doesn't void your warranty. But you also have to accept the risks of modding your car. If your turbo blows up your engine, its your fault and not scions or Subaru's.

Yea, I don't want anything super aggressive or insane. Just more than the stock power. 250hp sounds nice. Although a safe 300 sounds better.

He must have been talking about an Innovate kit. Ask @Frs300 how great a decision it is to let a dealership install your forced induction kit.

I certainly have my reservations about letting a dealership dumbass install it. They hire dirt bags off the street to work at those places. No offense to anyone. You should have seen me when I took it up to get one of the free oil changes... I followed the chick who ported it to the back and stood back there as they did the work.
