Fix for TOMS and Spyder taillights

Have you already got or thinking about getting upgraded TOMS or Spyder taillights?

Nice choice!

These taillights have LED signals built-in which presents a new problem to you: stock flasher will hyperblink when you signal. Not a nice reward for the money spent on these gorgeous lights, right?

You might have gotten a bundled or aftermarket "LED flasher" for these taillights to solve hyperblink. (I guess you could fool around with load resistors to try and get the right balance to stop hyperblink too... fewer people are adding load resistors these days because that creates different problems.)

With that LED flasher a new issue pops up: the first signal blink comes out rather slowly after a delay, then a more normal blink pattern follows. This gives an effect that your TOMS are not "as crisp" as they could be for LED signaling.

The fix for this is TapTurn: your first blink comes out hard and fast. The "snap on speed" you'd expect from TOMS taillights with LEDs comes true. And this remains true whether you keep stock signal bulbs up front or someday upgrade those to LEDs too. TapTurn takes good care of signaling for the whole car for life, no matter what you mix and match!

For the money dropped on TOMS lights, back it up with the best flasher to get the signaling performance you want out of them.

TapTurn flasher not only solves the retarded first blink, you get one-touch convenience signaling and of course the fun flasher modes. You can install TapTurn first to start enjoying (get hooked on ;) ) its features with stock bulbs and fixtures. Then when your TOMS arrive just install them without worry of hyperblink.

Interested? Click on the link in my sig below. Or search this board for "TapTurn" and discuss with members who have installed TapTurn specifically for this reason.

Got TOMS? Get Tapturn to get the most out of them!

Such a great product!! Love the convenience tap turn, although the BRZ/FRS is a little difficult to get it right (too easy to either not flick the stalk enough, or to over turn it). No fault of this flasher though.

Funny that I love it so much, since I used to work for the OEM flasher relay manufacturer Denso ;)

It does all this : http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35688

There's a video on this page if you scroll down, showing the various hazard modes : http://www.autowindow.com/orderTAP.html

Get Tapturn before you do the under dash work needed for TOMS lights...

I have set of TOMs but I also have front LED turn signals with load resistors. would I need to take off the resistors when I install the tapturn?

stupid initial lag is bugging the heck out of me lol.

Nope you don't have to take off the load resistors. TapTurn works just the same with or without load resistors.

..but after Tapturn is in, and only when you get around to it, snip those resistors off because they are now pointless and are just wasting energy as heat.

After the long voyage from the far away land of Canada, Tapturn is here.

Tap Turn is simply an awesome addition to the 86, the alternating hazard blinker certainly is a great way of warning drivers behind if there is a hazard approaching.

Helped fix another set of TOMS this week.

Get yours working right too!
