Side Skirts Problem Need some help
 

I got these side skirts similar to the one you see here with gap problem between where they get bolted up to the car. There is a strip of double sided tape running from front to back but it is not holding the skirts up in between the screws. Seem to be getting worst as weeks go by. Do anybody else have this problem? Thinking of removing them and redoing the tape with like 3M brand to see if it would hold it up better. Not sure will it last long so asking you guys for any other solution. Thanks!

Alittle more info. There are 7 screw holes around a foot apart front to back. In between them it's starting to sag.

Not entirely sure what the issue is, but I'll throw some ideas out.
Redo with strongest 3M tape you can find and prep area well and consider using a bond promoter. I attached some door strips that came with bond promoter and seems like it might help a bit (not sure if it eats paint, but it definitely roughs up the surface with some chemical). 3M may have a promoter they market.

I went to home depot and got two 8ft aluminum plates that were about an inch wide. Drilled holes to line up with the side skirts and bolted them up. Brought everything back to straight and much more secure. Also bought some stainless screws that were slightly wider.

Also, just to add that this is not the cheapest solution. Ran me probably around $70 in parts, but I know it is done right and don't have to worry about sag in the future.

can you give a long term update on this method? i'd really like to get this side skirt setup, but the sagging i see on a lot of other cars really turns me away from doing this part.

Absolutely no problems to report. They have been holding up and no sag.
