Daytime dash backlight
 

not sure if this is the right place to ask, but here goes....

is the dash backlight supposed to be lit up during the day (ie headlight switch OFF)? my gauge needles and LCD are lit up red all the time, but the rest of the illumination is dark. It lights up for a second when you turn the key, and lights up w/ the headlights. Intensity selector works w/ headlights on.

My DRL's are turned off. Bought the car that way, previous owner was a dealer tech, so figure it was done w/ techstream, but haven't got an answer yet. Would this have any effect?

I generally don't mind, but there are times when i can barely read the gauges cause they are in the shade and not lit up.

got mine new from the dealer, does the same thing. Kind of annoying, hopefully it can be changed w/ techstream...
