Your first accident/scratch/ding

What was your first mishap with this car and how did you get it? Did you fix it or just leave it?

I can't remember which came first but both involved my family. 1 - Throwing a football around with my brother and he hits the passenger side door, leaving a fist sized dent. Ended up getting PDR. 2 - MY dad backs up the car into the oooonly other car on the whole street. Left two minor scratches on back bumper. Didn't bother fixing that.

sonnydelight 09-12-2013 10:40 AM

My buddy opened his passenger door a bit too wide and dented my driver side fender. It was a pretty small, but sharp crease on the body line. I PDR'd it, but it'll need some paint work. :(

Scionshaun 09-12-2013 11:08 AM

Came out from the grocery store to see a shopping cart wedged into the side of my door to find 3 dimples in my frs. Ugh! I'm at the dealer to schedule an appointment for my dings repaired.

microbionic 09-12-2013 11:19 AM

windshield, then windshield, then low life scum 1.5 foot long door dinged...

zc06_kisstherain 09-12-2013 11:47 AM

I hit a BBQ Grill and scratched it. i just touchup painted since it wasnt that big.

tennisfreak 09-12-2013 12:08 PM

Took it to get windows tinted. Tint shop owner ran it up on a curb and scratched the bottom of front bumper.

I made him repair it at collision shop. Sand and repaint.

Shop did not do a perfect job. Just going to live with it.

First weekend i had this car I went to see Zac Brown Band with my woman and came back and decided to take the long way home through back roads, well started pouring and i ended up on some shit dirt back road, had her in neutral, at about 15mph; front end washed out into the catch basin on the side. It went catch basin, then a hill onto someones yard. I hit my front right on the hill and bent my tie rod knuckle where it connects to the hub :[

Ryuu0u 09-12-2013 12:34 PM

Backing out of my drive way too fast and my 5axis front lip scraped a little. You can't even see it but it still pissed me off a bit.

humfrz 09-12-2013 12:38 PM

Oh, yes, within a week of ownership. First one was inflicted by my wife (she "touched" the side with her car door, in our garage). Second one by me - I "touched" the rear fender with a rubber trash can - while the car was in our garage. The third by me, before I learned that the FR-S will NOT clear several cement parking stops.

I will have a PDR dude push out the two dents but the skinned up underside of the front bumper will go unfixed (cause I can't see it while standing looking at the car).

I'd like to say the vandalism was the first case, but I'm pretty sure there was something that happened long before that. I can't say exactly when or even how it happened, but within the first couple of months something happened to put a very hard to notice dent in the top of my right fender. You can only see it in the right lighting. The only thing I can attribute it to would be it looks like knuckles. I haven't done anything about it.

Second day, apartment maintenance backs their truck into my car. Tiny scratch in the bumper that, honestly, I won't be able to find anymore. I think it may have gotten buffed out.

Six months into ownership was my first nightmare. I was on my way to work in the morning. As I was exiting off the the freeway, I had a Nissan pickup tailing me the whole way up. I tapped my brakes to tell him to get back. He then proceeded to pass me on the shoulder of the off-ramp. He hit a a few large bumps and then collided with the side of my car. He then got to the top of the ramp and took off. I chased him down and got his plate number and called the police. Of course he denied anything to his insurance company so they were not going to help me. Eventually though, My insurance company fought it and won. I ended up getting my deductible back. But now my entire passenger side has been repainted.. One year later, I now have $2500 worth of hail damage...

CAMBAM_6 09-12-2013 01:42 PM

A woman backed into my car in a parking lot while i was at a complete stop the second week of having the car. I saw her coming but there was nothing i can do because of the cars ahead/behind me except honk my horn. She hit my rear passenger wheel and like a dime size scratch in the fender over the wheels paint. Got a brand new wheel and they fixed the little scratch and i was driving my car a few days later but i to was hit by the curse...just thankful it was the most minimal damage u can possibly ask for in a car accident.

2 rock chips on the front after 2 weeks of owning the car... still have em

ntron1 09-12-2013 02:11 PM

1st and only was a small scrape from a parking barrier under the front bumper on a road trip to the Tail of the Dragon. Well worth the minor damage....

Books 09-12-2013 02:14 PM

Hurricane Sandy last October. Big branch fell onto my parked car and left a few bumps. Can't see from a distance, but visible when you're close up. It was insanely windy!

mezdup 09-14-2013 02:42 PM

tons of rock chips from my 1-hour highway commute to work and back every day

ZionsWrath 09-14-2013 02:44 PM

rock chips from combination of NYC roads and :burnrubber:

Next time I know clear bra front bumper at minimum

Dsmith1992 09-14-2013 04:41 PM

Day 5 of owning the car

Insurance totaled it, turned around and bought a Firestorm. DEFINITELY learned my lesson and my ego has been in check since then. Just crossed the one year mark of ownership, and no accidents!

Dsmith1992 09-14-2013 06:01 PM

That kinda looked like mine after the deer

My dad bent the drivers side skirt right where the fender meets didn't have it fixed prob not going to before1k miles. Next I noticed some gas attendees have been denting my car while filling up :mad0260: some rock chips and finally backing off ramps scrapped the bumper going to need touch up paint

Hindi 09-15-2013 11:42 AM

About a week after getting my frs I backed in to the huge rusty raw steel contraption know to sone as a front bumper of a lifted redneck truck leaving a gamestop (no damage, still left a note). Luckily it was high enough to only bust my tail light. I've since bought a new one and back out of parking spots veryyyyyyy slowly especially whenever my gf is making white noise...

ciro 09-15-2013 10:56 PM

Yesterday night some one decided to hit my rear bumper on the driver side. No dent just scrapped the thin paint off. Just need some paint and it will be all fixed.

tunami 09-15-2013 11:33 PM

Someone kicked up a good size piece of tire on the freeway and it hit my bumper at +70mph. It knocked in the bottom center mesh grill on one end, and left some rubber marks. The grill popped back into the tabs, and the rubber came off with some elbow grease and wd40. Glad it wasn't worse!

BlueDubbinTDI 09-15-2013 11:53 PM

2 very very minor half dime sized dents about a dime size apart on my lower drivers side quarterpanel that I recieved on a very rainy day by someone. I chalk it up to someone slinging their door open to go sprint through the rain and then did it again getting back in. Only noticeable at certain angles and I'm sure it was an accident so I was only bitter for a couple days.

userjack6880 10-17-2013 10:06 PM

Almost a month and a half later, I no longer have to worry about the scratch that truck left on my bumper... I got rear-ended today. Looks mostly cosmetic, but as you know with any collision, damage on the surface can mean worse things.

bcj 10-18-2013 02:37 AM

hooked re-bar on the end of a parking stop at a county park.
Have a chipped tooth now. :mad0259:

Day three of ownership. Went to get the alarm put in at the dealer. The nice guy who installed my alarm did this to the car.

http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h8...psb1c1aa59.jpg

Had it PDR'd two days later at the cost of the dealership.

frs10 10-18-2013 09:40 AM

day 1 - scraped the front bottom of the bumper on a stupid parking block

last month - some assclown rubbed up against my rear bumper and gouged paint off my rear bumper

last week - noticed my windshield had a rock chip

MyGT86 10-18-2013 06:24 PM

1 month in door dinged by my passanger side rear fender. Rock chips behind the driver side door. Haven't fixed either dealership never has asphault touch up paint in stock =(

Billylammerkins 10-18-2013 06:39 PM

Opened my door to punch apartment gate code, e-brake wasn't pulled enough, car rolled back and driver door was severely dented.

wait what? so the e-brake wasn't pulled back enough then right?

BanzaiZee 10-19-2013 04:54 AM

I'm not sure if this was the first one, but I hit a cone at the track and the rubber bottom was what hit my car. Very faint/shallow dent and some scratches... at least I can say it was from my first time learning how to drift! :D

Other minor damages: a ding on the bumper that was probably a hit and run, luckily the clear bra saved it; a couple chips in the windshield; very small dent from when my Macbook slipped out of my hands and I caught it against the car; LOTS of curb rash... : ( You'd think I'd be used to my 18" wheels by now..

Well first, I work at a Toyota dealership. Week 2 of ownership a service tech rolled my car into a concrete wall and I had to have the rear bumper replaced. Week 3 another salesperson was backing in a Tundra and ran all over me. Week 6 door dinged twice within 3 inches of each other. And lastly the State was painting road lines without signs up and I now have yellow paint under the fenders on all four corners...

Doughnuts 10-19-2013 12:06 PM

Two weeks after I bought it, a deer ran into the side of the car, pretty large dent on the driver side rear quarter right behind the window. After having it fixed it looks 100% though.

This was the second one for me, except I have a few broken clips. It still stays in place so im not worried about it.

A scratched the roof with my bike at month two.

BPM 10-19-2013 04:54 PM

Why did they total the car? It is a brand new car and it looks like that can be repaired way under what they consider totaled. Just curious about the depth of the damage.
