Who else has painted engine components?

Before anybody asks, no additional horsepower is gained by doing this :D

I did this for show purposes since a plain engine is boring to look at.

Anybody else do theirs? Post em if you got em. I posted mine to perhaps inspire others.

(It's dirty as it hasn't been prepped for show yet.)

Mine has some color in it. See my build thread in my sig.

wtf that's terrible. Who the hell paints wire loom?

Wouldn't paint have gotten inside the slots of the alternator???

The paint in the OP is a little overkill for me. Plus it is not the cleanest looking job. I went with some clean CF accents, aftermarket bars and painted the yellow caps black with good ole plastidip. Much cleaner and more appealing than stock to me.

A bit harsh! The OP is obviously very proud of his work.

To be totally honest, though, I do agree 100% with infinite012 :barf:

I though about doing a few parts of mine to match the body until it donned on me that lazy 'buru didn't finish painting the engine bay sexy WRB and left it half done. I really like the heat-shield painted red with white on the raised lettering...

you couldve atleast got the same paint color.. thats a different shade....

You mean like mine?

I need to redo it because the VHT red doesn't match the TRD intake.

It's your car so do what you want, but that's definitely not my cup of tea. That's the type of thing that would turn me off from buying a used car, honestly.

Celica00 09-22-2013 03:07 PM

looks cool. love the color choice (go BYU).

but fuck man, too many components have been painted. I suppose over the top is a good thing for show cars though so youre hitting your goal.

I kept it very clean and simple, removed all yellow and orange warning labels. Left OEM and emission labels on hood. Painted all the yellow parts red. Painted belt covers red and left it alone. I just didn't want to spend money on pointless engine glam, and I don't like warning labels and yellow stuff.....
