headers help

I once read somewhere on here...cant find it anymore sorry...that there are some headers that give u a cel and some that don't. i finally saved up the money to purchase one of these fine pieces of metal...but not sure which one.

If you get a spacer, then you will not get a CEL.

Boofneenee 09-10-2013 10:15 PM

yea.. you need to get something to cover the 02 sensor.. many vendors who sell headers will sell that piece to you at an additional cost.

of course, the best way to prevent a CEL and maximize the true output from a header is with a tune. otherwise... a header may just be a waste of money

we.... maybe not a waste of money.. you will get cool sound but not nearly the amount of power that you will with a tune

CELs come from your ECU letting you know that hey something is abnormal. Adding a spacer or a defouler is only a temporary fix to fool the system in thinking things are still the way they used to be before you modified it. Your best bet to have no CEL is to tune the vehicle to let it know that your current amount of flow is normal.

How about just buying the TRD exhaust, then you are guaranteed no problems.

I'd wait for the nameless headers bro

That's not a header.

It sounds like you have the money and need to now take some time, be patient, ask questions and do some research.
