Battery tray for Braille 21lb battery?
Does anyone make a battery tray for the wider, 21 pound, Braille battery?
I know it's not the lightest battery out there, but it's the same width as the JDM battery and still shaves off 8 to 9 lbs. Anyway, the reasons for choosing that battery are for a completely separate topic. I'm just interested in finding a way to securely mount that size battery without having to do a whole DIY project on it. If that's what it comes to, then that's what I'll do. But I'd rather save myself some time if someone else has already done it. I know of 2 pretty nice battery kits on the market now, but they're for the skinny 11 and 15 lb batteries. I would bet that more people would switch to that size battery for the additional weight savings when changing the battery. So it makes sense that those are what I see whenever doing a search. Hopefully, there is another alternative. So if anyone knows of an actual product out there or has advice for mounting, please let me know. Thanks. |
im guessing youre attempting to run it in c-stock as a replacement item.
if thats the case, in nationals, you will be bumped into STX. |
My reasons for this battery are far less ... technical. hahaha. I'm actually trying to use the TRD battery clamp. And the stock USDM batteries are too fat. So, I found the Braille battery that was the same dimensions as the JDM battery (except for height maybe). And it doesn't sit as well as I'd like it to.
Pure vanity is my reason for it. Hopefully, there's something out there. Otherwise, I'll just find a way to secure it a little better to the stock tray (maybe some anti-slip matting or something). Anyway, thanks for the tip on the autox rules. |
search summitracing. com for "Braille Battery Mounting Kits"
Maybe something you can make work. Which model # did you get? |
Thanks. I think I checked them out earlier, but I'll give it another look. I bought the B3121C (The Carbon Fiber 21lb one). I looked at the Li battery for a little bit until I saw the price. I'm not quite that much of a baller. hahaha.
