AWD, stick, midsize sedan.

This is a market that needs to grow, not dwindle. Plus, key in the middle. Sub Zero.

Still a Saab....

Specs are pretty impressive but I agree, still a saab.

Cool. Can't deny a turbocharged AWD family sedan with a manual transmission. It's basically a classier, more luxurious WRX.

Joakim3 09-08-2013 08:55 PM

A car that only comes in black is an auto cool in my book, the fact that is manual only, is 4WD and had a ridiculously limited run of 2000 is icing on an already delicious cake.

Would have been utterly Sub-Zero if Saab went utterly mental with the X and gave the damn thing 400hp/400ft-lb of torque.... lol

I owned this car and made the suggestion, it has no relation to a 9-2x. The AWD system is made by haldex and the motor is made by holden austrailia. It was probably one of the best cars I have ever owned and gave its life to save mine in a crash! Got to love Saab Safety! Here is a nice video of mine (it had 400tq and 360hp by the time it was done)

Saab are pretty important.

They made some of the first commercial cars to come with a turbo. First turbo engine with a wastegate, how many cars do you worship come with wastegates...?

Produced some of the first "good" handling FWD cars.

Some of the first cars to have an ECU.

First car to have a seatbelt, safety bumpers, TONS of safety features.

Also they are pretty easy to work on.

You can get a stick for cheap, great car to learn to drive a manual. Buy it, keep it for two months and sell it.

Now only if they would stop being dead...

Ah yes, this isn't the Saab thread but...

They made these too. (Sorta)

Supposedly up until the Tesla broke the damn crash machine, the 2012 9-5 held the record for the roof strength test.

I think it was x4.2 times the cars weight before the A-pillars caved, or just shy of 8 tons :party0030:

Yeah my dad keeps the Viggen at his house... while the 9-5 is sitting in the parking lot until we can fix the transmission (auto). 140k miles and a good deal of "spirited driving" & "mach 7 runs" have made it develop a serious gear slippage in gears 2-3 so the car bucks like a freaking bronco

My dad was thinking about buying a G2 9-5 Aero until I found out the company that makes the windshield doesn't exist no more :bonk:
