A little car background:
I had an 04 sti (first car that matters) for a few years and spend a lot of time doing a lot of things to it. It was a great car and I should have kept it, but I sold it to save money on my hellish (1-1.5 hours each way commute). I bought a miata and a hybrid civic. It saved money.

Then I moved across country from DC (hellhole) to San Diego (paradise) and had to buy a car. I picked up a low mileage 99 m3. It did nothing for me, didn't inspire me, didn't really get the blood pumping (except the one time I got around to autocrossing it). After owning it for a year and half I calculated how much I had spend upgrading and maintaining it. It ended up being about what I'm paying in a car payment each month.

I picked up my BRZ at the end of August in 2013 from Subaru Pacfic (Ok, I lied...they drove it down to me from LA).

Planned use: Daily driver, occasional autoxer
The car came with: chrome fender trim (going to remove soon), wheel locks (ugly, wasteful, removing soon, and a trunk liner (keeping).

Here is a crummy picture of me with the car after it was delivered. I have a dumb looking beard that I grew while waiting for it (for good luck):

Exterior
-Cravenspeed license plate mount
-Cravenspeed short antenna
-de-badged

Interior
-white led dome, trunk, and license plat bulbs
-looking for a car mount

Suspension
-stock

Engine
-stock-needs more miles so I can autocross

Things that I want to do but probably won't do for a while:
-RCE yellow springs (had them on my sti - I trust them)
-top hats
-sway bars
-stickier tires
-partial red tint on rear light lenses
-alcantara all the things
-front lip+side skirts
-duckbill rear spoiler (not sure which one...I kind of like the Carsmo one right now)

After the warranty is up:
-Forced Induction

Today the Cravenspeed license plate mount and stubby antenna showed up. Thanks Mach V.

Also, we will test out how kid friendly the car is when I put a 4 and a 5 year old in it later today.

My 4 year old has been riding in it fine all week. His feet do touch the seat, so I put in a seat protector, but otherwise it's been fine.

This week I finally got license plates, washed the car and adjusted the clutch pedal.

I suggest anyone who is even slightly annoyed by the clutch pedal throw to try adjusting it.

How is the reception on that shorter antenna?

Reception seems fine to me.

I've used the gps a few times around San Diego with no issues, HD radio and XM radio work fine. My car has the older version of the radio firmware.
