Any Place to adjust Coilovers in Central NJ?

I am looking for a shop to install and adjust my coilovers in central Jersey. And also do corner balance & alignment. Anybody know a good auto shop?

How much to install a set of coilovers with full soft setting and to do alignment+corner balance? I might need something like a one year package so I can do damper and camber adjustment after installing them.

Will be good if it is near New Brunswick.

BTW, a stupid question: after the coilovers are installed, can I adjust damper by myself without doing alignment?

Thanks.

What kind of coilovers? Where did you buy them? What kind of racing are you doing?

check out AZP installs. they did my coilovers, and specialize in suspensions and subaru's.

For an alignment, I went with EG Tire in Dayton. You have to ask for Jeff. He used to set up Miatas and S2000s for auto-X. He will corner balance and do an alignment. He spent a good 2-3 hours just doing my alignment making it perfect.

As for installation, why not try the installation yourself? It only takes a couple hours to do and will give you some experience working on your car. The only tedious thing is setting the height as you'll be jacking the car up and down multiple times while making adjustments. If you don't want to do the install yourself, I would recommend AZP as well and they are relatively local to New Brunswick.

As for adjustments after install, you should be able to adjust the dampening (compression and rebound combined or independently depending on the type of coilover you have). The only thing that would probably require a re-alignment is if you adjusted the height as that will affect your camber/toe.

I am thinking to get RSR coilovers, but seems like they are out of stock for a while. They will come with preset but Its kinda too low to me. I need around 25mm drop only.

Did you mean that any tire store that have alignment can also do weighted?

Have you considered lowering springs?

cnk 09-23-2013 03:14 PM

No. Not all stores can do corner balancing. Typically only the ones geared towards the enthusiast/racing crowd. If you just go to EG Tire, they won't corner balance for you. You have to call and ask for Jeff and set up an appointment. He basically rents out the alignment rack from EG Tire and brings his own scales. He used to work for EG Tire.

:bs:I jsut called EG tire and Jeff is no longer there.
A noob told me that they do not know how to do the corner balance.

Yep, i got lowering spring on my old car and installed them by myself. Now just wanna try somethin new. Also want to setuo damper to make it stiffer on the rear. And its a new car so I dont want to change shock after 3-4 years.

The only thin I am not sure about coilovers is that I will hav to change height by myself. Iv never done that before. And dont know how to measure the drop.

Shoot us a e-mail and we'll work with you to get a proper setup. We've had very good results in testing the KW coilovers. Jive Turkey as well as a few other BRZs are running our KW setup.
