How long do you guys think it'll be before a used FR-S costs about $17k?
I've been saving money for a while now to buy an FR-S, and I'm just curious when you guys think a base model manual FR-S will be about $17k on the used market? I realize there's not a lot of used ones on the market right now, and the ones that are on the market are all pretty low-mileage. I guess I'm just curious how long it normally takes for an in-demand new car to get down that low. Thanks all!

I say about 2-3 years. Some people are selling for the same price as new with 10K miles on them. These cars are hot right now, so the prices will remain high while the demand is still there

I'd say 2-4 years for that price...depends on how many are on the market IMO. If there's only a few, then expect near msrp for one. Some might start selling once a new update comes or another more interesting car (in their eyes).
Unless there's accident damage or some issue, I don't see it going down that low for some time. |
2 more years or so. Unless you find one that is abused/damaged.

by the time its $17k, u prob would've saved up enough to buy a brand new one!

It really depends on the color. For some reason in my area NEW ultramarine is like 22-23k. Also Argento and Hot Lava seems less expensive. White is remaining high $$$. I believe in Mid-Atlantic you can get used ultramarine under 10k miles for $20-21k.

From a private seller you are looking at probably end of next year, with the use (miles) of a DD. That means around 40k-50k miles on it.
From a Dealership will probably be about 2 years, and with a lot of miles (50k+). Carmax right now seems to be selling used ones with 10k miles or less just $1000-1500 less than the price of a new one. It also depends which part of the country you are looking at. Why don't just finance the rest and get yourself a new one that you can enjoy right now instead of waiting? |
Next summer for a high mile one.

Don't expect low mileage and minimum 91 octane tho. The previous driver could be cheap. They just pumped low octane because the car is leased. Good luck.

If you wait 2-3 years to buy a twin for 17k they are going to have 35k+ miles and be used and auto x and tracked and drifted and molested..lol...but good luck you may find one that was babied if you look hard enough

Oh you can find them now look.....
