DRL / High Beam LED bulbs

Hi Guys,

I have searched the thread already but I could not find the answer, please help.

I am planning to switch the 9005 DRL / High beam bulbs to those LED ones. In the market, they have those 30W, 50W, 60W and 80W available. I may choose the 80W ones if the price is right.

However, before I purchase these bulbs, can anyone please advise whether these bulbs are just plug-and-play with no flashing or what-so-ever?

Will I lose the high beam function after the led bulbs installed, right?

In addition to these, I see some vendors are selling those LED unit with the heat sink / little electrical fan behind the bulbs with the ballast and etc. (similar to the HID kit). Are those led kit designed for the DRL / high beams? Anyone used those without any problems?

Please advise and thanks.

Don't choose 80W, the wire of the car is not made to support that kind of high watt bulbs. it might burn out the bulb much faster than you think it would. For safety go with 50W-60W. All the LED bulbs are just plug-and-play.

if you do choose LED Bulb, yes you will lose the high beam function.

the LED bulb don't have ballast as I know, only HID kit come withe ballast.

Please note that higher wattage LEDs may not be as reliable as some are not designed properly and easily overheat.

Our G's High Intensity Super White LED DRLs are compatible with the FR-S, does not overheat and emits a ultra white light output.

Some high wattage LED DRLs use an electrical fan to dissipate/ease the excessive heat and whether they do an effective job would depend on the design and testing they do on the units for overheat protection.

With LED lights, high beams are less effective so yes, on the FR-S you lose the high beam function (still lights up but does not light up the pathway ahead of you) when you install LED DRLs.

Okay, so I may go get the 50W or 60W cree led bulbs.

Regarding the led kit, if you do a google search, there is a led kit with the ballasts existed in the market. However, the installation is similar to the HID. I think they are brighter than the 50W or 60W bulbs but will not burn the wires.

I see.

Are the LED DRLs that you are selling come in a kit (just like HID, not just bulbs)? You have any pictures of the kit?

Thanks.

Low wattage LEDs generate very little heat. High wattage LEDs generate a LOT of heat. Sometimes more than the equivalent incandescent bulb. I'd be wary of LED replacements for high beams.

I have the Super Intense G's installed for my fog lights and I can say that they are BRIGHT. I don't really even need high beams ever when I have my HIDs and Fogs on.

Thanks for the complements, our G's High Intensity Super White Foglight H11 LEDs are very effective yet do not require super high wattage to accomplish the bright light output (backed by extensive engineering, design and testing efforts). Enjoy and thanks for shopping with HID Powerhouse :thumbup::thumbup::thanks::thanks::thanks :
