You Americans are lucky

I was looking around on the forum i stumbled on to gouys of 16 years old who could afford an FR-S, i couldn't believe this until I checked the Scion website.
I found that the base version is costing 25000$ (this is about 19000€)
Here in Europe the toyota GT86 is costing 30000€ or more.
With current conversion rates tis would be about 39,523$.

SO you lucky Americans!

Keep in mind that the GT86 has a lot of the same features as the BRZ Limited if not more... It's as JDM as it gets! Compared to the bare-boned FR-S.

Another factor could be the freight and tax cost for you guys...

$40k for a GT86?! eff that

Young_makaveli 09-03-2013 03:30 AM

Id love to have a GT86

Wyllliam 09-03-2013 04:00 AM

In Belgium is actually worse.
We only get the full option GT86 and this one cost 32000€ (42000$).

GT86 cheap and affordable sportscar, not in Belgium.

And that's why it didn't come here as a Toyota.

My credit history is not he problem i'm doing pretty good actually.:happy0180:
But i wish they would send a midgrade version to Europe.
I'm perfectly capable to operate the windshield wipers and the lights and i don't mind turning a key to stat the engine.:bonk:

Things don't cost the same in every country based on exchange rates because cost of living varies. Go look up what CPI/RPI means, OP.

16 year olds that can afford the frs? Must have parents helping them or theyre blowing all the money they make on a car
Nothin wrong with that tho

MY13FRS 09-03-2013 04:45 AM

lol...I am sure the OP know that thing do not cost the same everywhere. He's just stating that you Amerikans are lucky toys costs so little here...because that is true...what's with a '14 Corvette for $51k USD?

OP, just be lucky a parking spot don't cost you $200k...like in Asia.

That's also part of the reason we don't get any of the European hot hatches aside from the Fords, Golf, and Minis. So it's kind of a double edged blade. Also why American muscle cars aren't that great of a deal in Europe, they tend to cost nearly twice as much over there when they are built to a much lower price point here in their home market.

I think Australia is easily the luckiest country on 86 pricing:
Nissan GT-R $180 000
Honda s2000 $70 000
Nissan 370Z $75 000
Evo 10 $74 890
Mazda MX5 $45 000
Toyota 86 GT $29 990

Everything costs double here yet we pay nearly the same for the 86. We also get it as the toyota and get all options if needed for an extra 4k which is nothing comparing with the price relative to other sports cars. What an absolute bargain. Mind = blown
