Abbey Motorpsort GT86 Sprintex installation

Hi everyone,

finally got round to fit our Sprintex(Innovate) SC intercooler kit to our Abbey Motorsport GT86.

Still running stock headers with Stock Cat fitted;

Cobra over pipe/2nd Cat delete pipe and resonated cat back system.

Below is Dynapack dyno plot of a stock car versus Sprintex kit fitted only running 0.6 bar (80mm) pulley at the moment running our 98 octane fuel.

Remember our dyno reads Hub BHP

Looks nice and factory under the bonnet.

Tuned with ECUTEK.

thanks

Something is wrong with your baseline run. It looks like you let off the throttle early.

I think you're looking at the torque curve. the HP graphs are on the right. most stock ones seem to peak around 6600 or so, granted, it does look like they stopped the run a few hundred RPM shy of redline for their stock run, I don't think that it impacted the results.

haha i was doing the same thing. i was like why the heck is the torque so low, lol.

We have over 10 runs with stock cars they all read within 10lb/ft and 10bhp of each other.

RPM axis goes further than the stock car due to the tuned car being reved to a higher RPM figure when being tuned.

What picture do you want of the Intercooler set up? inside the plenum or the CC radiator?

I'd love to see any of those that you can provide.

That looks amazing. Any pics of the pump and how all the hoses are run? Were you able to mount the heat exchanger without taking off the bumper? Thanks!

yes bolts on from underneath easily.

Will get some pictures of the water pump install and pipe fitting soon.

for those of us who will likely be performing the upgrade as soon as it's available, how would you rate the installation difficulty of the intercooler portion of this kit?

ft_sjo 09-04-2013 08:58 AM

It's a 20 minute job.

Mark@Abbey m/s 09-05-2013 01:00 PM

not a 20 minute job more like 3 to 4 hours as your have to have the charger/manifold back off to fit the IC element and fit the radiator/pump and pipe work.

It is just getting to all the bolts I feel the manifold needs to come off.

We try to tell all our customers to always fit an Intercooled kit, far more consistent power.
