Summary total mileage poll ....

Hi Folks,

Yes, I realize that several threads exist asking for mileage input, but I would like to see an updated poll of miles driven.

How many miles on your FR-S/BRZ?

Feel free to comment on any significant problems your car has had.

Thanks

I'm just shy of 2,900 miles and no issues thus far.

Anthony 09-02-2013 02:46 AM

763 miles into the second bracket there. None of them put on the car by me, unfortuantely. :(

Hey, I hear THAT! In 05, I bought a brand spanking new 06 MX-5 (Mazda Miata) and my wife drove it to work the first week and I didn't get it back for 2 years. After 4 months, she has yet to drive my new FR-S .... :D

Nice. My car's previous owner lives in Salt Lake City and drove it to Portland, Vegas, and everywhere in between. At least I know a huge chunk of the miles on my car are highway miles.

qijian 09-02-2013 03:24 AM

88xx and its been nearly 8 months.. i say not bad.

Hawaiian 09-03-2013 02:48 AM

~8900mi Purchased Dec 2012. Car runs great! Got the crickets but still waiting on toyota/subaru for a permanent fix. The only real problem I had was hitting a 8-inch bolt on my from work to pick up lunch for my co-workers last week. A good deed turned into a $360 visit to the tire store as I had to buy 2 new tires for the rear.

Bolt went through the thread, the bladder, and inner wall of the tire. It made a decent scratch on the rim but was only a scratch. The tire store said the tire was unsalvagable because of the bolt diameter and how far it went through the tire at an oblique angle. Couldn't put just one new tire on the back with the difference in tread height so went with 2 Bridgestone Ecopia's. Tread pattern was the closest to the HPs but wish I could've afford 2 new HPs.

13,258. Bought mine new on March 13th. Too bad I drive almost 100 miles a day! Next oil change at 13,879 or around 6 days. Kinda glad I live so far from work because that just means I get to be in my car more!:D

No sig. issues for this guy @19000. My only issues are MY DEALER SUCKING at listening to the small issues I've brough up the them! Small issues are rattles, and my homelink mirror falling off due to improper installation.

frs10 09-03-2013 10:15 AM

500 +/- miles right now and i cant wait until 1000...

FRSGT86 09-03-2013 11:45 AM

Bought in June of 2012 just over 19K, with the only major issue being taillights leaking (need to get them done again at my next oil change, lost count of how many times they've been swapped out, three I think).

86 Dreams 09-03-2013 11:59 AM

I got 10k on mine I've driving it into the city everyday blew a rr strut probally because of the crappy roads. The roads in NY are bad so its getting a type of torture test. Also condensation in rr taillight other than that no problems loving the car.

Two weeks in and I'm almost over 700 miles. It kinda helped having a 450 mile road trip to bring her home. Always nice visiting the relatives and suddenly purchasing a new car.

Luis_GT 09-03-2013 10:01 PM

1550~ish miles... Had her since July 27th, 0 issues so far.

Why?

Having one tire with nearly 8900 miles on one side versus a brand new tire with 0 miles means the new tire will have a slightly larger diameter thus causing the car to pull more to one side. Supposedly the school of thought (that I just learned when going thru this) that to combat this you typically want to replace tires in pairs.

However initially I could not afford 2 new Bridgestone Ecopia, so I only bought one ans learned a hard lesson. My fiancee bought a second Ecopia so that the car would not pull so much to one side, but now we realized that the FRS does not do well with two different tread patterns, hp's in the front and ecopia's in the back. With the two Ecopias in the rear, the car is extremely unsteady at highway speeds.

Let me be more specific...

Why HP's instead of buying good tires...

Having 2 different thread patterns front vs rear shouldn't affect how the car feels at highway speeds, I have Nitto Invos in front and Bridgetone PS2's in the rear of the M3 I drive, drives as well as before.

Sorry for misreading; boils down to $. Planned to drive all 4 tires until it was time to replace all 4, I can't justify nor afford a full set of better tires right now.

Please tell me you didn't spend more than 100 bucks on the Ecopias...

You can get Hankook V12's for about 100 each... and they're as good as the Michelin PS2s...

TylerLieberman 09-03-2013 10:55 PM

4700 miles with 4 200 mile round trips up north and down to TX. I have a 3,000 mile trip coming up at the end of the year and possibly a 2,000 mile trip sometime next year.

Yeah have a feeling I may have gotten jipped on this one or if buying a tire at a time jacked up the prices. Ecopias at the Tires Plus shop I went to were $140 a piece. Not sure if it would have been cheaper if I bought a full set, either way I'm not impressed with ecopias.

Around 4600 miles. Bought it in June 2012 and have had no problems thus far. Been a good car.

SilentAngel 09-04-2013 05:41 PM

Bought mine June 8th 2012, just under 19,000 miles now. Only issues I've had were taillight condensation in both taillights, and crickets.

Chef 09-04-2013 07:19 PM

I have about 830 miles and got it Oct, 13 of last year. The problem I have is the driver side window squeaks when it goes up or down.

cevin45x 09-04-2013 08:01 PM

13,000 mi. Since July 30, 2012

FRSBRZGT86FAN 09-04-2013 08:06 PM

Jesus Christ, who drove there FR-S/BRZ 50k, we should ask him how the car is responding now.

Soclose09 09-04-2013 08:11 PM

bought back memorial day weekend of this year; been gone in the army so as of this morning she has about 600-700 miles... bought her with 11 miles

utekineir 09-04-2013 08:38 PM

2 months (july 5th), 7k miles

just crickets

sprintertrueno86 09-04-2013 09:22 PM

19xx miles in 3 months of ownership.

roddy 09-04-2013 10:16 PM

~21,000 miles here. Took delivery end of June 2012 (Apr. 2012 build). Love this car. Year 'round daily driver, lots of snow. This car is actually really good in the snow with the right tire on it. It's great on gas as well. My average is about 33MPG. There've been a couple of minor issues that were promptly fixed by my dealer (right tail light due to condensation, and left front 1/4 window due to a torn seal). The notchy grindy shifting was taken care of by a simple fluid change. If I had to complain about something, it would be those pesky crickets.

Mine does that when it is wet.

BlueDubbinTDI 09-05-2013 12:24 AM

right at 2800 since new May 28th 2013. Only issue is deciding if ill want to keep this automatic long term. The car itself should be atleast a 5 year owner if everything stays smooth.

autobrz 09-05-2013 01:29 AM

man.. I would have gotten 4 high performance summer tires of any brand trading in the 3 remaining michelins...
