A lot of money for still a slow car,i think adding a s/c is stupid, the gains is not enough.
Anybody ever thought bout fitting a Subaru wrx motor in,(with a Sti turbo upgrade,vf43)seems like a better idea, and for 80 k,one kick ass 86 with a lot more power.

But she still pulls like hectically. I love it. I like the boot spoiler, where did you buy it?

Some would argue that fitting a TRD kit and painting it pink and silver is stupid and a waste of money, but you know what they say - to each their own.

going to cost you a lot more than a charger I recon.
The FA20 is built for lexus tranny. So you would have to get the awd system in, or some tranny converter, ecu, harness, wiring, plumbing etc good luck

SLOW :confused0068:
Dyno shows peak outputs of 175kW/245Nm compared with the standard engine's wheel output of 120kW/190Nm, lifts rear-wheel torque up about 60 per cent and power by 40 per cent. with claims of 0 to 100 in 6sec.

the power to weight ratio added by a SC or Turbo to a 86, would make the 86 a thrilling car to drive.

No doubt alot of money, but still at R360k estimated for a STD Spec with a SC or Turbo, still makes it very worthy and IMO, one of the best fun rides.

Have a look at this clip to give you some perspective of what a boosted 86 is capable of.

And why go through all that hassle when one seems barely able to drive the car with its power as is ??

Jacques Blom 09-02-2013 05:36 AM

The concept of the 86 is to play...eg mod the car, engine ect.. Still a lot of value...if youre not one to play then buy a different car! I ordered the Gready Turbo...cant wait to play!

If you r really planning for a engine swap you should be looking at the Toyota 2j upgrade.

Why change the engine, the Fensport Turbo is frikkin mind blowing, as will the Greddy.

Vic_RSA 09-02-2013 07:03 AM

I think Vortech SC has addressed the car's main issue which is a lack of torque. Otherwise there really isn't much wrong with it in the performance stakes. It was not built to bash GTI's at the drags. It was built for fun!!! With a STI/2JZ you have to upgrade the entire car around the engine - the balance and budget go for a ball of sh!t in minutes!
