Exotics Racing School in Las Vegas

Has anyone heard of this? I'm going to Vegas in May and thinking of checking it out.

Costs are for 5 laps at a track next to Las Vegas Motor Speedway

Ferrari
430 F1 - $299
430 Scuderia - $349
458 Italia - $399

Lamborghini
Gallardo LP550 - $299
Superleggera LP570 - $349
Aventador LP700 - $499

Porsche
Cayman R - $199
991 Carrera S - $249
997 Turbo S - $299

Mercedes
SLS AMG - $249

Nissan
GT-R - $249

Aston Martin
V8 Vantage - $249

Audi
R8 V10 - $249

Corvette
Grand Sport - $199

All cars are automatic

I'm thinking of doing a 2 car combo (5 laps in each car), but can't decide which two. Right now I'm leaning towards Cayman R and 458 for $549. The combo price is basically the two prices - $50. Do you think it would be worth it? Which cars should I do?

If you are going to spunk money in Vegas, sure why not :)
I do not know how they work here, but I know that typically at these type of things in the UK they didn't let you really cane the car.

Upshifting way before the redline, not allowed out of 3rd gear, instructors more worried about protecting the car then letting you enjoy your time.

Not saying don't do it, but have the expectations they are not going to let you drift a $200k car around the corners and bomb down the straights.

damn, for 5 laps?

we do a full day school (your car though) at Mosport International Raceway for 400 bucks, you end up clocking well over 40 laps by the end of the day all with qualified race instructors and you go as fast as the instructor feels comfortable. (so if you drown like a clown they slow you down)

Yeah that's why I was hoping there might be someone who has done it who could comment on that. According to the website and some youtube videos I found it looks like they give you a pretty long leash.

Tough to tell how fast they are going in these vids but it doesn't look like the instructors are holding them back.

they are not holding them back because they are tippy toeing around the track

Do you have past track experience? If he thinks you know what you are doing youll be able to do it.

I remember someone from BC said something about driving Lambo in vegas. Was that Mr. Jays or someone else. Maybe he/she went to this event. You might want to PM them for more info.

Just my two cents.

Edit: and my memory serves me right. It as Mr.Jay from Vancouver BC. He drove a Gallardo LP560 then a 430 Scuderia. Detail in this thread.

Hope that helps.

5 laps!! What a complete waste of money!

I've been to the LVMS (infield) and it's an ok track.

They have their own track now which is supposedly faster and has a banked turn. I'm thinking 10 laps total will be enough to get a good feel for the cars and have some fun. 15 would probably be ideal but too pricey for me.

Yep that's me

drove the lambo superleggera and the 430 scuderia

If you haven't done it before they male you go kinda slow until the think you know what you are doing. I recommend telling them you tracked before cause they give you way more freedom if you do

5 laps? 10mins at best. You learn nothing from that.

Agreed. Except for the ability to "brag" that you spent money and drove a Ferrari/Porsche/Lambo on a track. I would rather go out to a nice meal with the wife than spend ~10min a car with a car talking the whole time. I would be like, "Dude, shut up! I'm trying to enjoy my time in the car and hear the engine. Not your voice."

Yeah the goal isn't to learn anything, just to experience driving the cars which otherwise is never going to happen in my lifetime.

I don't care about bragging, I just want the experience so I can compare it to other cars and know what I'm missing :)
