TRD Intake and sound tube?

So I got the TRD intake installed with my TRD exhaust prior to delivery and I love it, but I'm wondering if the sound tube that was deleted by the TRD intake can somehow be modified to fit back in with the TRD intake.

Anyone done this? Anyone even thought about doing it or wondered if it was possible?

A knife, metal shears, and duct tape. Why would you want to, though?

Why must you have the fried rice mod..?? :mad0259:

Look at the weight savings with this thing gone.

Yeah when I installed my AEM intake I gutted the sound tube and completely removed it all the way back to the firewall, plugging the hole of course. I am not sure why you would want to put a sound tube back on, especially when you would have to damage the integrity of the TRD intake.

It serves no purpose but to generate sound and force it into the cabin ...

Believe me, the exhaust will give you plenty of sound. My girlfriend got pissed because she couldn't hear her song last night while we were heading out.

Oh I know it's plenty loud, and I'm not going to cut up my TRD intake to put the sound tube back in. I was just wondering if there was a simple way without hacking anything to put it in just to make it a LITTLE louder.

If I read your first post correctly, you installed all this prior to delivery of your vehicle. Meaning, you have never actually owned the car for any duration of time without the TRD CAI/Exhaust combo and solely with the sound tube?

Let me tell you from first hand experience, the car sounds vastly better with the TRD CAI/Exhaust and no soundtube. Cabin noise is slightly reduced yes, but the overall tone of that noise is vastly superior than anything the soundtube generated.

No wonder this car sounds so much better than most 4 bangers... sound tube.
I had no idea

sound tube is awful, imo. not sure if you've heard the sound tube, i'm just assuming you've had it deleted since you've had the car.
it only seemed to make the engine "roar" a little louder (only within the cabin, obviously). it didn't sound particularly good and it made me feel the car was trying to be compensate for having a 2L.
gave you a false sense that you were rippin it even though you weren't.

i got rid of the sound tube when i put an axleback on because it was really interfering with the sound of the exhaust. if you don't have a stock exhaust it's def better without, my .02

I thought it sounded great. Better than the vacuum cleaner that most 4 bangers sound like.
