Sound Generator Tube Delete

Background info: I'm deployed overseas. I bought a used FR-S sight unseen and had it shipped across the country to my house. So I've never seen it in person, just photos from the seller and my friends at home.

So I'm just seeing the engine bay for the first time, and I see that the seller installed an aftermarket intake tube. He didn't even mention that during the sale, so that's a fun little surprise. But now I'm wondering about this thing I've circled in red. I can remove that right? Isn't that just the remaining bit of the sound generator that has no purpose in life but to channel noise into the cabin?

Oh yeah, I'm totally certain that's what it is. I'm just trying to make sure that it doesn't do anything else or have any electronics hooked to it, or maybe some other reason that I wouldn't want to take it out.

I don't know why I couldn't take it out, but I don't know why you would install a "sound generator" anyway. Actually I do, but I think it's silly, so it doesn't count in my head.

Not to ask a dumb question but, did you get the stock suspension as well?

I have Tein Monoflex coilovers installed and he included the stock suspension as well. He also included the stock wheels with no tires, stock intake parts, and stock antenna.

Not bad

I've got Tein coilovers on my Tiburon and I love them. Their range of dampening adjustability is a lot wider than I expected. I can go from Cadillac to go kart in under a minute.
